"Tragedy Bound" as written by and Samuel Bingham Endicott....
Tragedy Bound
Looking for clues
I'm starting to suspect she likes abuse
I'm starting to feel like she doesn't feel
Is there anybody in there?

Tragedy Bound
She is a mess
Her daddy was a demon watching her dress
He shriveled her down, wore her like a crown
Is there anybody in there?

All her life, she's bound to lose
All her life, she's bound to lose

Tragedy Bound
I feel sick
Her daddy was killed, her feelings were mixed
He wore a hole in her skin, now all the boys look in
Is there anybody in there?

Tragedy Bound
Now she's stuck
She can't even care enough to fuck
She's cutting herself just to see if it works
Is there anybody in there?

All her life, she's bound to lose
All her life, she's bound to lose

Tragedy bound
If I met this man
What would I say?
How could I speak
How could I speak
How could I speak

All her life, she's bound to lose
All her life, she's bound to lose
All her life, she's bound to lose
All her life, she's bound to lose

General CommentNotice that every Bravery album seems to require at least one occurrence of the F-word, last time it was in An Honest Mistake. =P Very nice acoustic track though.

General CommentYup, I think its about an abused girl growing up and not being able to meet new people, talk to them, because she couldn't even open her mouth to tell someone about her father and what he did to her.

For some reason I also get the feeling like it's one of those annoying chain letters that you get in e-mails and myspace that always say "you'll have bad luck if..." or "if you don't repost this you will die..." etc. LOL

General CommentDefinitely about a girl who was abused by her father when she was little, and that that has ruined her life forever. That song really got to me instantly- it is intense and utterly sad, and The Bravery did a stellar job translating that into a song.

General CommentOK, it's pretty simple to get.

It's about a girl (who is probably a woman now) who was abused by her father. The relationships with men that occur after the fact are all poisoned by her lack of self-respect and confidence.

Wow -- "He wore a hole in her skin, now all the boys lookin. Is there anybody in there?" has got to be one of the best lines of all-time. Just expertly worded. Awesome symbolism.
