you remember me from a better time
infatuation with each other could summarize
all this is tied to the love
the love you had assumed would never die
i can't remember what i had said
something remeniscent of a relationship
it was easier to lack the truth
then tell you how i feel
but i will surround your heart with lies until the end

i remember you from a better time
conversation saturated with telling lies
all this comes back to the love
the love i spoke with honest and pure eyes
now i remember what i had done
something meaningful to get you and fall in love
it was easier to tell you
everything you want to hear

but i will surround your heart with lies
and it's a heavy burden on me baby
a heavy burden i have never felt before

sit back, relax, recover
a fine time for me to mention you
get down, regret and wonder
who really ever tells the truth
sit back, relax, recover
a fine time for me forgetting you
get down, regret and wonder
who really ever tells the truth

i will surround your heart with lies
and it's a heavy burden on me baby
a heavy burden i have never felt before

General CommentI reckon it's about a guy who made a girl fall in love with him even though he didn't care about her that much. And he's running it through now and saying how he just said everything she ever wanted to make her happy and now it's gone too far he is revealing what really went on.

It's a sad thing that happens and it's something we all do. Hearts on fire seems to be the metaphor for use just bruning people emotions.

General Commenteasily my favorite song by InnerPartySystem.

i think it's about a relationship that turned bad: "i remember you from a better time/ conversation saturated with telling lies"

i guess the guy wasn't really interested in the girl, 'cause he lied to get into the relationship and to keep it going. there's a lot to back that one up, one being: "it was easier to lack the truth/ then tell you how i feel/ but i will surround your heart with lies until the end"

    i loveee this song.

General CommentI always thought this song was about a guy who lied to get in a relationship with a girl,
then started to have feelings for her, but she didn't know the real him at all.
