"Look At Miss Ohio" as written by Gillian Howard Welch and David Todd Rawlings....
Oh me oh my oh, look at Miss Ohio
She's a-running around with her rag-top down
She says I want to do right but not right now

Gonna drive to Atlanta and live out this fantasy
Running around with the rag-top down
Yeah I want to do right but not right now

Had your arm around her shoulder, a regimental soldier
An' mamma starts pushing that wedding gown
Yeah you want to do right but not right now

Oh me oh my oh, would ya look at Miss Ohio
She's a-runnin' around with the rag-top down
She says I want to do right but not right now

I know all about it, so you don't have to shout it
I'm gonna straighten it out somehow
Yeah I want to do right but not right now

Oh me oh my oh, look at Miss Ohio
She a-runnin' around with her rag-top down
She says I want to do right , but not right now
Oh I want to do right but not right now

General CommentOh, I am definitely Miss Ohio (and luckily from the Buckeye State). Such a great song, by Ms. Welch.

About a girl that just doesn't know what she wants, but she knows that she's not ready for a strong commitment, marriage or any part of the white picket fence theory. Just wants to live and eventually do the right things, just not right now. Story of my life!

General CommentInterestingly, the line "I want to do right but not right now" echoes a famous prayer of St Augustine, made while he was a teenager (and a manichean) which could be rendered as follows: "Lord, make me good, but not just yet". Here the line is detached from a religious context but the sentiment appears to be similar! A nice allusion to the dualities of human nature. Maybe Miss Ohio went on to be good after all ... or maybe not ...
