"Shooting Star" as written by and Christopher Michael/jordan Wall....
Pretty, if the sun won't shine
I'll be coming out to meet you
I'll be there to make you mine

Pretty, if the rain will pour
I'll be knocking at your window
I'll be begging you for more

It is as if you've come along too soon
And I'm trying to fit you in
But I can't seem to find the room

Cutie, if it all falls through
We can piece it back together
I can learn to trust you too

You're just too good to lose
And I can't refuse
So don't make me choose
Between the two

I'm fed up in here
In my atmosphere
Don't you know who you are
You're my shooting star

Pretty, teach me wrong from right
'Cause in love there are no answers
And in life there is no lie

Pretty, if the sun won't shine
Now you've come this far to meet me
And I know, I know you're mine

You're just too good to lose
And I can't refuse
So don't make me choose
Between the two

I'm fed up in here
In my atmosphere
Don't you know who you are
You're my shooting star

Don't you know who you are
You're my shooting star

General Commenti think this song is about falling in love with your best friend..or hooking up with them ....
he is hesitant because she is so important to him as a fridn that he doesnt want to have a relationship with here because that could risk their fridnship "your just too good to loose, and i cant refuse, so dont make me choose" ... i think she is pushing for them to be together and he is saying "dont make me choose" as in, he doenst want to choose between being with her apposed to remainging friends.

"now you've come this far to meet me and I know, I know you're mine
he knows that she feels that way about him and she knows he feels the same..

"It's as if you've come along too soon
And I'm trying to fit you in but I can't seem to find the room
Cutie, if it all falls through
We can piece it back together, I can learn to trust you too"

he is saying this whole thing has hit him so suddenly and he did not expect it to happen..he's trying to make sense of it all and decide on whether to be with her but he "cant make up the room" for her..
he fears that their fridnship might fail because of them hooking up..and says We can piece it back together, I can learn to trust you too"

in the end he tells her that her friendship is too important to him..and he doesnt want to jeopardise that..but he still tells her that he loves her..whether that be platonically or legitimately..
and throughout the song it seems clear how much he loves her:

Pretty, if the sun won't shine
Pretty, teach me wrong from right
Don't you know who you are
    You're my shooting star

hope this makes sense...i only make this presumption about the meaning because iv been in that boat so to speak

General CommentI completely adore this song. Every time I hear it it makes me think of someone special who I loved (and always will) and who loved me more than anyone. Everything was perfect but we couldnt go on because of the long distance... He used to play this to me on the piano so it's in a way "our song". I love singing and playing it too, especially when I feel down, because it just makes him seem so much closer :)

And oh, the correct lyrics are (I have the official sheets and know them by heart):

Pretty, if the sun won't shine.
I'll be coming back to meet you, I'll be there to make you mine.
You're pretty if the rain will pour.
I'll be knocking at your window I'll be begging you for more.

It's as if you've come along too soon,
and I'm trying to fit you in but I can't seem to find the room.
Cutie, if it all falls through
we can piece it back together, I can learn to trust you too

and you're just, you're too good to lose
    and I can't refuse
so dont make me choose between the two.
I'm better in here, in my atmosphere.
Don't you know who you are?
    You're my shooting star.

Pretty, teach me wrong from right,
'cos in love there are no answers and in life there is no line.
Pretty, if the sun won't shine.
Now, you've come this far to meet me and I know, I know you're mine

and you're just, you're too good to lose
    and I can't refuse
so dont make me choose between the two.
I'm better in here, in my atmosphere.
Don't you know who you are?
    You're my shooting star.

Don't you know who you are?
    You're my shooting star.

General Comment"I just- to get, to lose and I can't refuse"

"you're just -to get, to lose and I can't refuse"

i think those bits are wrong:

    Your'e just - you're to good to lose and i can't refuse.

    ^^ i think thats right?

General CommentI've just listenned to the song again and im pretty sure that it's "in love there are no answers and in life there is no right" not "in life there are no answers..."

Im not 100% but it sounds right!
Possibly their best song! Awesome band!

General CommentOh my god. This song is FANTASTIC. Air Traffic is great at achieving the prefect balance between piano and guitar, and I think it's most evident here.
lianna123- I think "in love there are no answers and in life there is no right" is correct.
