"Wayside" as written by and Adam Peter Weston Ian Lewis Kenny....
And how long has it been
Did I forget to lay it down too

Stroke out in a motel
I got my fingernails scratching at the dry wall
I got so much headache
I can't get you out of my mind

In the hardest times
when I had to call on you
For just a little
when I cry I don't mind if you leave me alone

You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside

And how long have you known
that I forgot to lay you down too
Too much sun milk and honey
is that all that i really got?
I had so much money but not enough sense to make change

In the hardest times
when I had to call on you
For just a little
when I cry I don't mind if you leave me when you leave me

You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside
Yeah

How about this
Entertaining myself
on such a selfish wish

I can't break this way though
I can't be this way though
And I feel like the same
Are you feeling the same?

Hey now
I'm a poor man
I got my fingernails scratching at the dry wall
I got so much headache
I can't get you out of my mind

In the hardest times
when I had to call on you
For just a little
When I cry I don't mind if you leave me
when you leave me

You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside

You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the wayside
You caught me by the way

General CommentGreat song. Can't really decipher a meaning, personally... I know there's sometrhing there, but I'm stuck for thought at the moment.

It made the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2007 countdown yesterday. :D

General CommentI can't really get a meaning out of it either. But my best guess is it that it's about a guy that is or was with a girl that didn't really care for him. And that he had been with her so long that he didn't realise he just wanted the relationship to end as indicated by the lyric "I had so much money but not enough sense to make change". Thats just my thought, probably not right but oh well haha. Good song anyway

General Commentit's obviously about a break up. She has left him probably because he's touring a lot and seeing other women. He didn't see it coming and thought he wouldn't care if it did. but now that it has happened, he's crushed. He felt rich and on top of the world and now he feels poor and alone

My Opinion"Wayside" meaning side of the road or the gutter..

Therefore the song must be about a girl that found him in the gutter and picked him up?

General Comment"You caught me by the way " means he didn't actually fall in.. but he was close?
