"UFO" as written by Angus Peter Mcdonald and Connie Thembi Mitchell....
UFO
(A. McDonald/C.Mitchell)

I just don't wanna be lonely
Cause the lights were shining ever so bright
In my hand there?s a pulse of my beating heart
I'm biting my tongue there's a plastic man on the telephone
Can you see the bright lights shining I don't know
Can you see the bright light shining, shining....

I saw a UFO but nobody believes me
I was 16 miles from home with nobody in sight
I saw a UFO but nobody believes me
And what?s it gonna take to get me back home tonight.

Can you see the bright light shining I don't know
Is it a reflection of anyone, the big glow
And tell me this is all good, and you say, I don't know
I'm very, very far from home.

I saw a UFO but nobody believes me
I was 16 miles from home with nobody in sight
I saw a UFO but nobody believes me
And what?s it gonna take to get me back home tonight.

General CommentI prefer Pictures to this song personally. The song appears to be about extra terrestrial activity and noone listening to the 'believers' claims. Anyway I wanted to comment cause the filmclip to this song was shot at a motel in my street (about 30m away) and you can even see my car in the background!

General CommentIt's not about believers, it's about being lonley. The person saw a UFO, but nobody is close enough to him to believe him.

General Commentit's about being on ecstacy you morons. but the undertone about being lonely fits.

'very far from home' - on another planet, in effect, drugged out to excess.

no one believes she is hallucinating, even visualising fictitious objects in her own imagination,

bright lights etc etc refer to being out in some club.

inthe song she also appears to talk to someone else on drugs ( and you say. i dont know...etc).

General CommentWhat is about QLDers and there God damn 'Better then every one els Attitudes'?... Don't even Go there Bud,... I wasted to many years in your so claimed paradise.. Best thing I ever did was pack my bags!

As to any ref to the song.. IF it is about being under the influence, I would think Its about being on A BAD Trip. Not on some plateau.

General Commentto me this song is about a person with a mental problem. No one understands them or trys to understand them. Its about being trapped in your own mind, with no means of escape. When they say "Whats it going to take to be back home tonight" it could mean the just want to be sane again or that they are in a physciatric hospital that they want to leave.
