Our candle burns away
The ashes full of lies
I gave my soul to you
You cut me from behind

Nowhere to run and nowhere to hide
You're scared of the truth, I'm tired of the lies
'Cause who I am, is where you wanna be

Don't act like an angel
You fallen again
You're no super hero
I found in the end

So lie to me once again
And tell me everything will be alright
Lie to me once again
And ask yourself before we say goodbye
Well goodbye
Was it worth it in the end

You said you were there for me
You wouldn't let me fall
All the times I shared with you
Were you even there at all?

Nowhere to run and no where to hide
You're scared of the truth, I'm tired of the lies
'Cause who I am, is where you wanna be

Don't act like an angel
You fallen again
You're no super hero
I found in the end

So lie to me once again
And tell me everything will be alright
Lie to me once again
And ask yourself before we say goodbye
Well goodbye
Was it worth it in the end

Why'd you have to up and run away
A million miles away
I wanna close my eyes and make believe
That I never found you

Just when I put my guard away
It's the same old story
You left me broken and betrayed
It's the same old story

Don't act like an angel
You fallen again
You're no super hero
I found in the end

So lie to me once again
And tell me everything will be alright
Lie to me once again
And ask yourself before we say goodbye
Well goodbye
Was it worth it in the end

Lie to me once again
It's the same old story
Lie to me once again
It's the same old story

Was it worth it in the end

I think this song is talking about having someone in your life that you looked up to.Maybe a parent, a mentor, no matter what they were someone really important. Anyways, this person screwed up big time. like they tell you over and over again not to do something and then they fall and they do that thing they always told you not to and you come into the place of having to take care of them and be a crutch for them. And it's like, I looked up to you so much and look what you did and now you're just begging them to take it back cause it hurts that they fell off that pedastal. Maybe that person just backstabbed you and you never thought they'd hurt you like that. Does that make any sense? That's how I see it. I had a similar situation and this song is exactly how I felt.

Great song, just heard it a few days ago. It was someone important that you depended on to get you through tough times, and they weren't there for you.

So, I've recently been in this situation. To me it means you gave everything, but this person just played along. You can't trust, but when you finally did, it bit you in the ass. They acted so great, and faked it, but you believed it. Basically, it's a GREAT heartbreak song.

This song reminds me of a guy friend I grew up with... I've known him for about half my life, loved him all that time... he showed up at my door one day, swept me off my feet and then screwed me to the wall. And not in a good way, either.

So yeah, these lyrics pretty well describe how it feels to be completely screwed over by somebody you loved and trusted.

Is definitely a very good song.

Just a few days ago I heard 12 stones perform this song acoustic on the radio. It was amazing. The singer said that basicly it's about a long relationship that ended and the last words she said to him were "atleast you could get a hit song out of this" Hopefully she is choking on her words somewhere..true poetic justice! But anyway I can relate to the lyrics very well. I was in a relationship that was pretty one sided..me being the one doing all of the giving, and my ex was only worried about herself and after it was all over i realized that i didnt deserve that and left me wondering if all of my trying and tears were worth a second of it...my answer is no! I have been a fan since their first record and continue to belive that 12 stones has been long overdue for the exposure they are now getting..keep rockin dudes!

this is about a relationship (of any kind. frinedship, boyfrined/girlfrined etc.) where one perosn lied and the other knew it but kept on forgiving thme and crawling back and now tehy're fed up and cant take it anymore. and tehy wonder if the other perosn was really there or not or if it was more of a one way thing. and tehy wonder if it was lalworthit if tehy learned or gained anythign out of it. and how tehy might not have beenteh "super hero" that tehy thoght the other perosn was.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
