Passed out in our school clothes
So we'd wake up in our Sunday's best.
I never asked for your oppinion, I just got it.
And I get it, you move slow like daytime drama.
And I'm boring like his songs.
So while I'm taking you forgranted, I'll be humming along.
All that I want is, everything you are
We'll sit right here till we finally set this right.
Well shouldn't you be, leaving soon. Well shouldn't you...
Cross my heart and hope to, I'm lying just to keep you here
So wreckless, so thoughtless, I could care less.
Cross my heart and hope to, I'm lying just to keep you here.
So wreckless, so thoughtless, I...
So paint your face up something elegant
And this town may be a darker shade of red.
Cause a long night, means a fist fight, between my pillow and your pearly whites.
It's everything you've been waiting for.
Well shouldn't you be leaving soon. Shouldn't you, shouldn't you.
Cross my heart and hope to, I'm lying just to keep you here.
So wreckless, so thoughtless, so careless.
I could care less.
Cross my heart and hope to.
So wreckless, so thoughtless, I...
Keep your hands up
and your head down.
Shut your mouth now.
Shut your trap now.
Keep your hands up,
and your head down,
and your hands up.
Shut your trap now
One of us never did it but we're taking the fall,
Tell me why your eyes never batted when you said you wanted it all.
Tonight won't make a difference.
Tonight won't make a difference.
And neither will I.

Not exactly sure on some of the lyrics, feel free to add your input on the lyrics cause I'm sure not all of it is right.

I freaking love you. I wanted to post this forever but I never had enough lyrics to bother. A few corrections: Well shouldn't you be, leaving soon (????) I'm pretty sure he's saying "Shouldn't you be leaving soon, well shouldn't you?" So wreckless, so thoughtless, I... And this town may be a darker shade of red. In between those should be "so paint your face up something elegant." It's harder to hear in this version, but it is still there. Also, Put your hands up, put your hands up? Thats what you get now(?) Keep your hands up(?) One of us never did it but we're taking the fall, Tell me why your eyes never (???) when you said you wanted it all. (Put your hands up(?) This should basically be John repeating "Keep your hands up And your head down Shut your mouth now Shut your trap now Keep your hands up And your head down And your hands up Shut your trap now" While Adam says "One of us never did it but we're taking the fall, Tell me why your eyes never batted when you said you wanted it all" And this part Tonight won't make a difference. Tonight won't make a difference. Tonight won't make a difference. Let's just let it fade, and wonder how it got so far(?) Is basically correct except I think the last line is "And neither, neither will I" while John says something that ends with "You've shown it so well" There's other little pieces that I don't quite know. Adam is singing something quickly in the background before every chorus, and he's also whispering something during the interlude, but I can't make much of it out.

Any idea what is being said in the background of the first "shouldn't you be leaving soon". The only part I can understand is the "never want to say again"

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
