"The Fundamental Alienation" as written by Sven Kopperud, Stian Thoresen and Tom Rune Andersen....
My eyes got blinded
And conned by the light
Like a fugitive on the run
I sought perseverance in the night

Deceptive icons were finally
Taken out of my sight
As the contender to origin
I will forever unveil His might

They say I am the cancer
On the back of the Inquisition
I may well be the cancer
In the heart of the Inquisition

They say I am the cancer
On the back of the Inquisition
I am the cancer
In the heart of the Inquisition

Through my years of sacrifice
Evolution came with lessons learned
Respect and fear
Is what I earned

So underestimate not your vision
Or you will be taught
Calculate your intuition
And you will teach

You all have been conned
And I always take the blame
For you do not understand
You are all the same

They say I am the cancer
On the back of the Inquisition
I may well be the cancer
In the heart of the Inquisition

They say I am the cancer
On the back of the Inquisition
I may well be the cancer
In the heart of the Inquisition

They say I am the cancer
On the back of the Inquisition
I am the cancer
In the heart of the Inquisition

My eyes got blinded
And conned by the light
Like a fugitive on the run
I sought perseverance in the night

General CommentIn this song the character says he has been befooled by the christianity while he was searching for perseverance! At that time only things he learned are respect and fear!
At the end of song he speaks to whom are under control of christianity!

Can anyone explain what "being the cancer in the heart of the inquisition" means??

    General Commentnecronic, you are right

that said, the meaning is not really for everyone's personal view on christianity, but instead the main character of the album's story: the priest that becomes the antichrist - he's the one realizing his mistake for following the church

General Commentwelll '' they say i'm the cancer in the heart of the inquisition'' means : according to christianity you may not seek informatino about ''how did we exist?'' and of that kind of thing. And a cancer means a disease which is very big and needs very good medicines. so if THEY (christians) say that YOU are the CANCER , they want to do eveything to get you out of their religion. (Because you may not seek information about your life). : you have a lot of information which are christians too ignorant for to comprehend it , you are one who understands the ''tale'' of life. the cancer destroyes everything in its way so also the christians and their beliefs.

    Thanks for reading ,
