Quarter past midnight
Sittin' here in the moonlight
No offense, my dear, I hope you know
Tonight I write to you

Love is a question
And a conversation
And did I mention
A foul intention?
Leh'me demonstrate - elaborate - to your liking.
Honey

Haunt me, how you taunt me
Question after question, story after story

Tensions move way to fast
And I'm afraid to say
What would you think of me anyway?

Heres a few things that I might say
If you really wanna know
I've got nothing in my way
1 2 3! Overdose!

You make me feel like I can fly
Keep me up all damn night
Incredible
I know your skeptical
Believe me I'm not wasting anytime
I found what I had to find
It's whats on my mind

Sittin' here in the sunshine
Tryin' to put you outta my mind

But I know my dear
No way, no how
So much to learn, so much to find out

What goes around
Comes around

And anyway, in any case
I'm losing faith
To find myself
In your warm embrace
It's just today

Well maybe tomorrow, baby,
but ohhh, not today, honey!
Not today, baby!

Haunt me, how you taunt me
Question after question, story after story

Tensions move way to fast
And I'm afraid to say
What would you think of me anyway?

Heres a few things that I might say
If you really wanna know
I've got nothing in my way
1 2 3! Overdose!

You make me feel like I can fly
Keep me up all damn night
Incredible
I know your skeptical
Believe me I'm not wasting anytime
I found what I had to find

In the final act you break and wave
I won't let anyone harm you
Keep it together for another day
Come to my window
I'll see you the same
See you the same
Ohhhhh! Ohhhhh! Ohhhhh!

General Commentumm at the end instead of see you to stay it should be sing you to sleep.. there might be more mistakes im not sure but that one caught my attention so just letting you all know that.. so it most likely is about a girl then not a drug... why would you sing a drug to sleep...

General CommentIt could be about a girl. It could be about a drug. It could be about a girl becoming like a drug.

If the girl becomes like a drug, according to the lyrics, "I" throws "her" out the window which leads me to think that the song is purely about drugs.

If it's about drugs, he goes to his window to smoke (I'm assuming - "sing you to sleep").

General CommentIt seems like the girl is saying that she's not worth his time, but he thinks that she's the only thing he needs in life, and she makes him feel complete. That's my take on it. The song was released on a sampler, that can be found on Etc. forums and The Fall of Troy forums. It contains CD-quality versions of Cut Down all the Trees and Name the Streets After Them, Semi-Fiction and Quarter Past.

General CommentAmazing song overall, just incredible!

Although it definitley wasn't what I was expecting, I definitley do not feel cheated as a TFOT fan. They did a good job and I respect them for that.

General CommentIt sounds more like he's addicted to something, because most of the lyrics also relate to tripping acid. "You make me feel like I can fly, keep me up all damn night." I guess that's just what it is to me.

General CommentAnyone else think it's terribly clever that on a song with 12 songs, that the 3rd one is called "Quarter Past" ?
