Bright cold silver moon
Tonight alone in my room
You were here just yesterday
Slight turn of the head
Eyes down when you said
I guess I need my life to change
Seems like something's just aren't the same
What could I say?

I need a little more luck than a little bit
'Cause every time I get stuck the words won't fit
And every time that I try I get tongue tied
I'll need a little good luck to get me by

I need a little more help than a little bit
Like the perfect one word no one's heard yet
'Cause every time that I try I get tongue tied
I need a little good luck to get me by this time

I stare up at the stars
I wonder just where you are
You feel a million miles away
(I wonder just where you are)
Was it something I said?
Or something I never did?
Or was I always in the way?
Could someone tell me what to say to just make you stay?

I need a little more luck than a little bit
'Cause every time I get stuck the words won't fit
And every time that I try I get tongue tied
I need a little good luck to get me by

I need a little more help than a little bit
Like the perfect one word no one's heard yet
'Cause every time that I try I get tongue tied
I need a little good luck to get me by this time

I know it feels like the end
Don't want to be here again
And we could help each other off the ground so we never fall down again
What it takes I don't care
We're gonna make it I swear
And we could help each other off the ground so we never fall down again
Again

I need a little more luck than a little bit
'Cause every time I get stuck the words won't fit
But every time that I try I get tongue tied
I need a little good luck to get me by

I need a little more help than a little bit
Like the perfect one word no one's heard yet
'Cause every time that I try I get tongue tied
I need a little good luck to get me by this time

I know it feels like the end
Don't want to be here again
And we could help each other off the ground so we never fall down again
What it takes I don't care
We're gonna make it I swear
And we could help each other off the ground so we never fall down again

This song is amazing. He's just kind of looking back on a relationship where sometimes he would want to say something but didn't know how. Something like that. All I know is that I love it.

    i love this song!!

i also think its: everytime that i try, I get tongue tied

instead of: everytime that i try TO get tongue tied

i just think it makes more sense :)

Very good song. I think it's when a guy really wants to talk to a girl and he likes her but he's too shy and his words dont' come out right around her...

This is such an awesome song, I'm currently addicted to it. :D BUT, I believe that some parts of these lyrics are WRONG. So here are the real ones:

Bright, cold silver moon. Tonight alone in my room. You were here just yesterday. Slight turn of the head, eyes fell when you said, I guess I need my life to change. Seems like something's just not the same. What could I say?

I'll need a little more luck than a little bit, cause everytime I get stuck, the words won't fit. And everytime that I try I get tongue tied, I need a little good luck to get me by. I need a little more help than a little bit. Like the perfect one word no one's heard yet. Cause everytime that I try to get tongue tied, I need a little good luck to get me by this time.

I stare up at the stars, I wonder just where you are, you feel a million miles away. (I wonder just where you are). Was it something I said, or something I never did? Or was I always in the way? (Was it something I did). Can someone tell me what to say, to just make you stay?

I'll need a little more luck than a little bit, cause everytime I get stuck, the words won't fit. And everytime that I try I get tongue tied, I need a little good luck to get me by. I need a little more help than a little bit. Like the perfect one word no one's heard yet. Cause everytime that I try I get tongue tied, I need a little good luck to get me by this time.

I know it feels like again, don't want to be here again. And we could help each other off the ground, so we never fall down again. And what it takes I don't care, were gonna make it I swear. And we could help each other off the ground, so we never fall down again, again.

I need a little more luck than a little bit, cause every time I get stuck, the words won't fit. But everytime that I try I get tongue tied, I need a little good luck to get me by. I need a little more help, than a little bit. Like the perfect one word no one's heard yet. Cause everytime that I try to get tongue tied, I need a little good luck to get me by this time.

I know it feels like again, don't want to be here again. And we could help each other off the ground, so we never fall down again. And what it takes I don't care, were gonna make it I swear. And we could help eachother off the ground, so we never fall down again

this song is absolutely amazing. but i think its supposed to be "i need a little more luck THEN a little bit" because it would make more sense. because its like hes saying he needs some luck and then hes going to need more instead of having "than" there because that makes it sound like he needs more luck rather than a little ... actually, they both kind of make sense i guess but i do think it should be then. either way its an amazing song = )) ahah.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
