"Evicted" as written by and Casey Blue Crescenzo....
I have been evicted
From a soul constricted
By the flameless fire
Can’t we all just go cold?

If you need a little cash you sell yourself to everything
A dollar in exchange for failing hearts
So loudly sing:

Oh, how I truly know that frame of mind
Sleeping softly curbside
Comfortably abroad on a stolen ticket

None of this will last, all of this will pass
When bedsheets are broken glass
I know your hearts will skip a beat in empathy

If you need a little cash you sell yourself to everything
A dollar in exchange for failing hearts
So loudly sing:

Oh, how I truly know that frame of mind
Sleeping softly curbside
Comfortably abroad on a stolen ticket

But none of this will last, all of this will pass
When bedsheets are broken glass
I know your hearts will skip a beat in empathy

It’s just that easy: pick yourself up and go give the world a great big smile!
(hey, hey kid, hey kid, get a job!)
(hey, hey, hey, hey, hey kid get a job!)

Wash your mouth out, ditch those morals, sleep your way right to, right to the top!
(hey, hey kid, hey kid, get a job!)
(hey, hey, hey, hey, hey kid get a job!)

General CommentI think this is the Dear Hunter trying to justify how his newest love "ms. Leading" might be a whore, how it may be acceptable. He parallels this to the mindset his mother was in. She just needed money, she was not a bad person. at the end, he's going back and forth in his mind trying to come to a verdict.

General CommentI think it's about how he has no where to go, and that he's used to it. I blew all his money at the dime on ms leading and has nowhere to sleep but curbside on broken glass. He got there on a stolen ticket. He's been broke his whole life, and is used to it.

General Commenti think mrme1213 has it right, though i dont think that ther hunter knows his mother was a prostitute yet.

    "I have been evicted
    From a soul constricted
    By the flameless fire
Can we all just go cold?"

im thinking this begining bit is him feeling freed from his previous life a little, having now found 'love' in miss leading he has a new angle on life. the flameless fire is miss leading, the idea of a flame and a fire have been used to represent the dear hunter (the fire) and his father (the flame) in battesimo del fuoco. this could be the dear hunter seeing a familiar story in miss leading, her being the fire and maby she is flameless because she has sunk to such low acts being a prostitute or because she has no paternal figure or something.

    My InterpretationSo evicted:
It means 2 things. One he’s being taken away from ms. Leading by that dbag. But I think it is returning to the larger theme of prostituting yourself to survive and it is literally talking about being evicted “sleeping softly curbside”.
Lolz on the curbside being soft.
So he is joining the masses as they sing their pain.
This brings us back to the smiling swine
And then to the oracles on the Delphi.
So now, it’s about faking it and emptying yourself. Aka get a job.
