It’s in your eyes.
The look of certainty.
The look of apathy.
It’s in your eyes.

I’m not so sure that we have nothing to lose.
Should have held this closer.
Staple your note to the back door.
Until then, your gut can tell you this.

Does anyone hear me?
Does anyone honestly?
It will fall to peices.
It will fall to peices.
Find home, hold strong.
When everything is taken, you’re empty.
We’ll see a purpose.
Just need to stand as one.

Do these thoughts have syllables or am I mumbling?
Do I seem tense when I carry your load?
Or am I, or am I losing it?

Does anyone hear me?
Does anyone honestly?
It will fall to peices.
It will fall to peices.
Find home, hold strong.
When everything is taken, you’re empty.
We’ll see a purpose.
Just need to stand as one.

Take all, take everything.
It’s hard to stop from dropping it all on you.
The heart will hurt when it’s crushed,
By the weight of the leaves on the trees.

We’ll see a purpose.
We’ll stand as one.

I’m not so sure we’ve lost anything.
But while you’re listening,
I’m hurting for something better.
Till then, your gut, your gut can tell you this.

Does anyone hear me?
Does anyone honestly?
It will fall to peices.
It will fall to peices.
Find home, hold strong.
When everything is taken, you’re empty.
We’ll see a purpose.
Just need to stand as one.

General CommentWhat do you guys think this part means?

"The heart will hurt when it’s crushed,
By the weight of the leaves on the tree"

I think it means that if you listen for God, your heart will be convicted by his Holy Spirit. That is the "weight" that crushes your heart. I think the "tree" is the cross at calvary, and its "leaves" are your dying sins, the sacrifice of Christ.

General CommentThe way I looked at it is like how christ suffered for our sins, so the tree is the world, the leaves are the sins of the world, and the heart is the heart of christ. So his heart hurts from taking on the sins of the world. But that is just one way to look at it.

The writer is talking about his sins, he says its hard to stop from dropping them on you ("you" meaning Jesus who took the weight of the world, the sins of every person)

"The heart will hurt when it’s crushed,
By the weight of the leaves on the trees"

This right here is by far the deepest verse in the song, in the bible we as people are reffered to as trees in multiple verses (ex. Psalms 1:3, Psalms 52:8 and many others) with that explained, "the heart" refers to Jesus heart. The leaves refer to sins. So what I think the writer means is that Jesus heart aches of all the sin we have committed and will commit.

Anyway, Jesus loves us all (regardless what we believe in) dont ever lose faith :D great song from an amazing band its 2014 and im still jamming to em peace you all much love and God bless :)
