I understand why you're looking for tears in my eyes
Trust me, they were there but now the well has run dry
I was in so deep I couldn't get out
I sat on feelings that I buried deep down
I knew there'd come a day when our paths would cross
And I'm glad it's today 'cause now I am strong

I'm happy, and I can thank myself
If it were up to you, I'd be in my bed crying
But I'm happy, and I know that makes you sad
After all the things you put me through
I'm finally getting over you

I'm happy
I'm happy

There's a reason why we met, and I'm glad that we did, yeah, yeah
But when we broke up, I got back a part of me I really missed
Not saying that you brought me down all the time
There were moments I lived without light on my side

I'm happy, and I can thank myself
If it were up to you, I'd be in my bed crying
But I'm happy, and I know that makes you sad
After all the things you put me through
I'm finally getting over you

All the bitterness has passed
And I only wish you someone who can do what I can't

I'm happy, and I can thank myself
If it were up to you, I'd be in my bed crying
But I'm happy, and I know that makes you sad
After all the things you put me through
I'm finally getting over you

I'm happy, and I can thank myself
If it were up to you, I'd be in my bed crying
But I'm happy, and I know that makes you sad
After all the things you put me through
I'm finally getting over you

I don't really like this sort of music... more into like megadeth, children of bodom, metallica etc. but I quite like this song and her new cd, Dignity.

I love it! Very catchy, but I really wish it was longer.. I reckon the verses are too short and the instrumental goes for too long at the beginning.. like, it takes a while to kick in. It sounds awesome though :)

THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG ON HER ALBUM i think she's talking about being over a guy...and now she's totally happy b/c she's herself again.....and the fact that the guy doesn't care for her.."If it were up to you I'd be in my bed crying"

i totally agree. Also, in my situation, I can relate. Because there's a guy who's been tearing me down for the past couple of years, and I haven't had the guts to tell him how I feel. I would cry in my bed for hours. When I told him, I felt stronger, and now I'm happy. He's gone out of my life. I'm happy. Awesome song, by the way

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
