Ideological leper, newly planted tower:
Grows from the ground and spills its guts out on the sidewalk
Pseudo politico, flat talk o'clock:
Rolls past the site of a flesh insurrection
Sidestepping creep, hostile slumlord:
Grabs his cash and hits the road
His face is scarred and scabbed like the map of some
Desolate wasteland, a speck of neglect
Bombed out and leveled, to be cleansed again

We'll bury this city in trash

Damage deceiver
Builds up his believers
and takes charge

Stains half of the sewer
with chaos and clover
and charred tongues

Is this the dumpster of your dreams?
And who will be your next trash crusader?

Ancestor incest
The organs are rotting
on weak slabs

The corpses of buildings
With old stones

General CommentSocial commentary basically. As per usual with The Locust. It's hard to get meanings from many of their songs, they can be interpretted in so many ways. Often with incongruent themes in the one song as well I think.

Anyway, great great song to start off the new album. I'm loving the doomy pace of their new tracks. It's great. I havn't heard them slow down like this in their past releases. Correct me if I'm wrong and they have gone this slow in past releases [not including the Safety EP which is where the speed changes were first hinted at] but I think The Locust has found a new way to express themselves.

General Commenthahahahahaha, that should be excactly what it means! I wish I could find some good acid. Being from San Diego, this song represents the absence of acceptance. Everything keeps growing and moving like theirs nothing else to do. The raw consumption of that city and most of southern california is just horrendous. And this song seems to predict a tale of a garbage induced apocalypse. The beginning build up is just the best thing theyve ever done though. SAN DIEGO NOISE DEATH APOCALYPSE MUSIC REPRESENT
