It's late
and ill tell you straight
you screw this up
and i'll make you pay

tonight
fuck your stage freight
you do your job
and ill do mine

well the lights are as high as i can have them
these images are significant
the prose have yards of flesh between them??
so ill be rich before you're on the stage

Chorus
this demon has his way with me
he was a hit in record time, please
he'll kill me when i hit my feet
cos dead singers mean the money keeps rolling in
rolling in

lose weight
so fast on a plate
its standing up
????????????

well the lights are as high as i can have them
these images are significant
the prose have yards of flesh between them??
so ill be rich before you're on the stage

Chorus
this demon has his way with me
he was a hit in record time, please
he'll kill me when i hit my feet
cos dead singers mean the money keeps rolling in
rolling in

sit down
you neednt shout
ill make these rules
and you play them out

now im backstage ??inp-holed?? and water
remember our last discussion dear
but ill get half is not important
ill be here as long as you can fail

Chorus
this demon has his way with me
he was a hit in record time, please
he'll kill me when i hit my feet
cos dead singers mean the money keeps rolling in
rolling in
rolling in
yeeeeeeeeeaaaah

you're not wrong ;) first off, is this song not called "Loki"? and among others its "he'll kill me when i reach my peak" good effort though

its about the evils of the record industry. a very cynical song for such a young bands first demo. the chorus makes me think of how Jeff Buckley went platinum only after his untimely death

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
