"Cinderella" as written by and Matthew Hales....
I'm on a roll
Everything I touch turns to shh...
It's taking it's toll
Can anybody get me off it?
Stuck on a roll
And it's wearing thin

I remember the night
No wet eyes, no crossroads
No mention of fate
Just a poor decision

I shouldn't have gone
Even though my head would bust
I shouldn't have gone

Be careful what you hope and you pray for
You know you only get what you pay for

And I can hear the ticking of time bombs
For poor Cinderella

I'm on a roll
Everything I touch turns to gold
It's taking its toll
Can anybody get me off it?

I shouldn't have gone
Even though my head was busting
I shouldn't have gone

Be careful what you hope and you pray for
You know you only get what you pay for
And I can hear the ticking of time bombs
The clock strikes
It's midnight
For poor Cinderella

General CommentI get the feel that he is explaining a pessimistic view of the cinderella story if she didn't have a happy ending (if the prince didn't find her at the end). At first she is having a good time, then at midnight the 'bomb' goes off and she no longer has the magic. Now she has a taste of happiness, but can't have anymore, so she regrets it.

General Commentthis song is a perfect opening track. it's pretty much beautiful, in all its lo-fi glory. i don't really know what it means though.. but it must be something to do with fairytales.. cinderella, obviously and also the legend of king midas ("Everything I touch turns to gold")

General CommentI tihnk it might be about getting a girl pregnant? Like a he says he remembers the night, no mention of fate so maybe he means they werent in love or in a serious relationship and he made a "poor decision" to have sex with her, and now her time is ticking away because shes pregnant and alone?
