"California Dreaming" as written by Michelle Gilliam and John Edmund Andrew Phillips....
All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray
I've been for a walk on a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A.
California dreaming on such a winter's day

Stopped in to a church, I passed along the way
Well, I got down on my knees and I pretend to pray
You know the preacher likes the cold
He knows I'm gonna stay
California dreaming on such a winter's day

All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray
I've been for a walk on a winter's day, yeah
I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A.
California dreaming on such a winter's day

California dreaming on such a winter's day
California dreaming on such a winter's day
California dreaming on such a winter's day
California dreaming on such a winter's day

California dreaming on such a winter's day
California dreaming on such a winter's day
California dreaming on such a winter's day
California dreaming on such a winter's day
California

General CommentYour right it is a Mamas and Papas song, but it has been covered numerous times, including the Beach Boys, who covered it twice! Here is a link to a music video of the Beach Boys covering California Dreamin', which also includes Roger McGuinn of The Byrds fame, on 12 string guitar and John Phillips, of The Mamas and The Papas on saxophone youtube.com/…

General CommentI actually like this Beach boys version. I, like most people, will pick an original over a cover any day and I still do with this song but the BB version isn't bad. I like the sax solo.

It's 26th Oct 2012 and the weather in London has just changed, the cold artic winds have reached us this morning and this song has never been so apt. Going out for another cig... and to listed to this song again. Wish I was in LA right now... bet it's warm.
