A hard fall
On a rough path
Her body her betrayer
She spoke as she fought back

To lose is to lose
But I'll never die for you
I'm saved with
The flare, the spark, the alarm
I'm not alone in this fight
There's no excuse for the trite
Not one

Would they believe
The things we've done
This gives my sleepless nights
A reason to be home
They're crying out
As they make their way down
In the midst of all this drowning
What will come of us?

Swing now hard
The reveille sounds
Was it worth it?

Swing now hard
The reveille sounds
Was it worth it?

Swing now hard
The reveille sounds
Was it worth it?

Swing now hard
The reveille sounds
Was it worth it?

They set the fire
With eyes so wide
A sudden sense of comfort
Washed over them at once
They're crying out
As they make their way down
In the midst of it
What became

Swing now hard
Swing now hard
Swing now hard
Swing now hard

(Oh yeah!)
(Goddamn!)

With eyes so wide
Love is all there was

With eyes so wide
Love is all there was
Love is all there was

General Commentwell for one.... if "love is all there was"? then why the fuck would it be stating the end of your relationship? and melly.... my take on this song is about the ending of something great.. like maybe an emperor and his empire or something i dont know... but im just tired of all these little kids thinking that all these songs that they are in love with are about a relationship

General Commentalright. well i think it IS about two kids fighting to keep their relationship together while their "betrayers" as in the parents or whoever is controlling them, refuse to let them be. "To lose is to lose
But I'll never die for you" again talking about the hatred of the decision made by the betrayer.

    "Swing now hard
    The reveille sounds
    Was it worth it?"
this talks about how hard they fought back and by winning did they really succeed happiness.

    "With eyes so wide
    Love is all there was"

theyre scared but they believe in their feelings for eachother.
