Let go my hands
that's the way things go
but I don't know
I just don't know
Make up some simple lies
And compromise how i live

Cause either way
I'll break your heart someday
And leaving you's the last thing on my mind
so when i go baby kiss me slow
so i don't forget to make my way back home
when it's cold

Sail away
on a wayward ship
Candy lips in my grips
Cheap perfume
oh it never lies
can't supply and it could advise

Cause either way
i'll break your heart someday
and leaving you's the last thing on my mind (uh huh) yeah
so when i go baby kiss me slow
so i don't forget to make my way back home
when it's cold

I'll miss you in the winter
your friends say i should listen
Can't you see i've loved you all along
if america dont like me
you can say i finally
i'm the cableman who only knocks on the door
should anyone, should anyone

Cause either way
break your heart someday
and leaving you's the last thing on my mind
so when i go baby kiss me slow
so i don't forget to make my way back home
when it's cold

oh when it's cold

i saw them perform at summerfest in milwaukee...which by the way was AMAZING...and he said that he wrote this song when he was "quite intoxicated."

the lyrics make more sense if you appreciate that dan was drunk when we wrote them...

This is a new song and I've never heard anywhere but in concert and on a demo live cd (i bought at teh concert) but Dan said it was about "the love of his life". It seems like he's not very happy with himself, maybe something he's done in their relationship or in a past one while he's been out on the road. He loves this girl and doesn't want to do anything to jepordize their realtionship "leaving you is the last thing on my mind" but he knows how he is and he is just fearing the worst... that he'll inevitably break her heart someday.

    the correct lyrics are

All I have about the way things go I don't know, I just don't know Make up some simple lies and compromise How I live

Cause either way I'll break your heart someday But leaving you is the last thing on my mind So when I go baby kiss real slow So I don't forget my way back home When I go

Sail away on a wayward ship With candy lips in my grip Cheap perfume, Oh it never lies And I can't supply any good alibis

    (Chorus)

Well I miss you in the winter Your friends say I should listen Can't you see I've loved you all along Well if America don't like me You can say I finally Became a man who only likes the gun Shoot anyone, shoot anyone...

    (Chorus)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
