I'll pretend I'm deep asleep
Before she burns the skin beneath my sleeves, my sleeves
She's not convinced, she's not convinced
That I try to keep a straight face when we kiss, when we kiss

"And no one comes to bed to sleep,"
You said, you said when you talk in your sleep, oh
I want to run, I want to run
But you've got the gun pointed right at me

Won't you believe me, oh
Believe me tonight, oh oh oh
You've got control but I don't mind

Call us out on our mistakes
Call them all just fun and games
We have to, we have to over again
But it's all the same
And if you ever find yourself a mile
or two away from my place
won't you stop awhile
And kill me while I'm sleeping now

I'm not afraid to make the same mistakes that you made, oh
Come on, come on, don't keep me waiting
I know, I know where this is going
We fall apart without intentions
But I can't deny that I didn't think of you, oh
You'd never mean to, you'd never mean to
But you've got me tied so tightly to your wrists

Call us out on our mistakes
Call them all just fun and games
We have to, we have to over again
But it's all the same
And if you ever find yourself a mile
or two away from my place
won't you stop awhile
And kill me while I'm sleeping now

If you ever want some trouble
But cant afford the alcohol
I'll be here, I'll be waiting
I'll be here, waiting for you

Call us out on our mistakes
Call them all just fun and games
We have to, we have to over again
But it's all the same
And if you ever find yourself a mile
or two away from my place
won't you stop a while
And kill me while I'm sleeping now

i love this song. their booklet says, though, for the chorus:

call us out on our mistakes call them all just fun and games we act and react all over again but it's all the same and if you ever find yourself a mile or two away from my place won't you stop for a while and kill me while i'm sleepin, love?

to me, this song is about a boy and a girl shockerrrr

they have a fatal attraction to each other, he's always bound to be broken by her, and she's the same way. they can't get enough of each other even though they both know its doomed.

and people are just sayin that their makeup/breakup cycle is them having fun, but they seriously do care for each other...they just keep screwing up. so right now they're apart, but if she ever does come back into his life, he'd be willing to see her again and maybe give it another go.

no no no, you've got it all wrong. to me this is about someone who cant get away from something. for example, "i want to run but youve got the gun pointed right at me" . see, when he says -shes not convinced when i try to keep a straight face when we kiss- it basically means to me that he doesnt really liike her, he just cant get away from her . thats what i think,, !@#$%

I think it's about a guy who is in a relationship with a girl he doesn't like but stays anyways because he can't get over how physically attractive she is. Thus the "gun" is her sex appeal and he knows just being with her for the physical aspect is not good but he is too addicted.

"no one comes to bed to sleep" is also a reference to sex.

he says "kill me while I'm sleeping because he knows he is using her and it's wrong so he wishes he could end it.

"If you ever want some trouble, But can't afford the alcohol. I'll be here" - that to me sounds like he is ready for a one night stand any time

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
