To the centre of the city where all roads meet, waiting for you
To the depths of the ocean where all hopes sank, searching for you
Well I was moving through the silence without motion, waiting for you
In a room with a window in the corner I found truth

In the shadowplay acting out your own death, knowing no more

As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on the floor
And with cold steel, odor on their bodies made a move to connect
I could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all left

I did everything, everything I wanted to
I let them use you for their own ends
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you

I saw them play this live and I looked over to my friend and said "Man, this new song is fucking amazing!"

Then I went home and saw that it was 'Shadowplay' by Joy Division, a band whose music I listen to often. What I'm trying to say (other than feeling really stupid for not catching that) is that it sounds nothing like the original..they really twisted it, and got rid of the darkness of the original. And the fact that Brandon Flowers doesn't try to re-do Ian Curtis's voice makes all the difference. They just made it sound like a Killers song, not a Joy Division cover.

Good on The Killers for this version. It's going to be on the soundtrack to "Closer," the movie about Ian Curtis.

When I saw "New song" on my email, I was hoping it to be an original, but this is alright, I wouldn't rank it as one of my favorites. I never heard the orignal version.

^Just some corrections, since Brandon does tweak the words a little. But yeah, I agree, bueller84, this is a good way to do a cover. It's completely different in a Killers way. I do like this version better than the original, but that's just because I'm in love w/the Killers, probably, lol.

But yeah, I was overjoyed when Sawdust came out.
