"The Count Of Monte Christo" as written by and Shingai Elizabeth Maria/smith Shoniwa....
So the Count of Monte Christo
Threw the cape over his head
Gave me a penny for my thoughts
But didn't get no change, and
Old aged rhythms
They were singing in his brain for
A mechanical crusade
Tried to shoot down his aeroplane

I see, you see
Ain't no more honey from this bee
I see, you see
Stung you've got a hold on me
I see, you see
Ain't no more honey from this bee
I see, you see
Stung you've got a hold

I want to make you feel so special
It's time to break the ice
Bless you and your wicked ways
For I guess that these are stanger days
But the tact must change for
The duchess to reveal her face
I'd give you all my pennies
For your gallantry at tomorrow's gate

When I see, you see
Ain't no more honey from this bee
I see, you see
Stung you've got a hold on me
I see, you see
Ain't no more honey from this bee
I see, you see
Stung you've got a hold

I, I, I see, you see
Ain't no more honey from this bee
I see, you see
Stung you've got a hold on me
I see, you see
Ain't no more honey from this bee
I see, you see
Stung you've got to hold on

To be immortal is commonplace
Except for man, all creatures are
They would be in a cage
Especially the superstars
So bind my hands
And tie me to the old oak tree
A mechanical crusade
Tried to shoot down his aeroplane
A mechanical crusade
Tried to shoot down his aeroplane
A mechanical crusade
Tried to shoot down his aeroplane
A mechanical crusade
Tried to shoot down his aeroplane
A mechanical crusade

General Commentthe bee reference refers to the change the count goes under. He starts the book as a poor and naive sailor and a friend takes advantage of this and the count ends up in jail where he becomes angry and bitter and bent on revenge - kinda like uma therman in kill bill. (i.e he is no longer sweet to others like honey is sweet but is still a bee which can sting). when he escapes he comes into alot of money by finding treasure, creates the alias the count of monte christo and starts his revenge. In this song, its almost as if she has fallen in love with the count and is trying to get through to him but instead hes so bent on revenge she doesnt get a look in. When she says he gives her a penny for her thoughts, she reffering to the genourous nature that the count gives out his money. He doesnt give her a penny, he gives her more but wont accept the change. Hes kind but will never love her. Thats what i think anyway

General Commentit's actually the count of monte CRISTO
it's a book by Alexander Dumas (he's also the one who wrote the three musketeers)

I dont' see the connection between the count of monte cristo and the bee though:S

General CommentI'm not sure if I have a different version, but those lyrics aren't right.

    From what I hear they're:

So the Count of Monte Cristo,
Threw the cape over his head,
And gave me a penny for my thoughts,
    But wouldn't get no change.
    Just old age rhythms,
They were singing in his brain for,
A mechanical crusade tried to shoot down his airplane.

    But I see, you see,
Aint no more honey from this bee.
    I see, you see,
I'm stung, you've got a hold on me.
    I see, you see,
Aint no more honey from this bee,
    I see, you see,
    I'm stung you've got a hold...

    You are...

Wanna make you feel so special,
It's time to break the ice,
Bless you and your wicket ways,
For I guess that these are strange days,
    But the tact much change,
For the duchess to revile her face,
I'd give you all my pennies for your gallantry at tomorrow's gate.

    When I see, you see,
Aint no more honey from this bee,
    I see, you see,
I'm stung you've got a hold on me,
    I see, you see,
Aint no more honey from this bee,
    I see, you see,
I'm stung you've got a hold on me,
    I see, you see,
Aint no more honey from this bee,
    I see, you see,
I'm stung you've got a hold on me,
    I see, you see,
Aint no more honey from this bee,
    I see, you see,
    I'm stung you've got a hold...

So the Count of Monte Cristo,
Threw the cape over his head,
Gave me a penny for my thoughts,
    But wouldn't get no change,
    Just old age rhythms,
They're all singing in his brain for,
    A mechanical crusade,
Tried to shoot down his airplane.

    But I see, you see,
Aint no more honey from this bee,
    I see, you see,
I'm stung you've got a hold on me,
    I see, you see,
Aint no more honey from this bee,
    I see, you see,
I'm stung you've got a hold on me, oh!

A stung you've got a hold on me.
A stung you've got a hold on me.
A stung you've got a hold on me.
So, so, so, God I love you so.
There aint no more honey bee.
    But you can't, can't, can't
You wont get me to my knees.
Yeah, yeah, no, no, no, no, no.

    I see.
