"Uncanny" as written by and Steven Arnold (16579) Nathan Young (16578)....
Airports to Amsterdam
There's nothing that we can do now
I'm convinced, oh, that you're right
You're right where you belong,
Beside me, to remind me
Did you ever think this far behind me
You would see the world for what it was
And who we really were
Oh they love us American boys

Anywhere, say anywhere
As long as I'm with you
Anything, ask anything
We'll watch the world go by
Anywhere, say anywhere
As long as I'm with you
Anything, ask anything
We'll watch the world

Trains to Tokyo,
Staring out windows,
A place we've never been
While soundtracks play in backgrounds
To the stories of our lives
Non-fiction, oh envision,
if we never met and what we missed
And never really learned
Pacific Standard Time
Oh they love those American boys

Anywhere, say anywhere
As long as I'm with you
Anything, ask anything
We'll watch the world go by
Anywhere, say anywhere
As long as I'm with you
Anything, ask anything
We'll watch the world

Anywhere, say anywhere
As long as I'm with you
Anything, ask anything
We'll watch the world go by

Anywhere, say anywhere
As long as I'm with you
Anything, ask anything
We'll watch the world go by
Anywhere, say anywhere
As long as I'm with you
Anything, ask anything
We'll watch the world

Anywhere, say anywhere
As long as I'm with you
Anything, ask anything
We'll watch the world go by
Anywhere, say anywhere
As long as I'm with you
Anything, ask anything
We'll watch the world

    General CommentAmazing song.

Perhaps one of my favourite songs on Cities.

Although, I'm still a little skeptical with the last line where they say "american boys" .. is that right?

General CommentDoes anyone know what this song means?

I could be wrong, but I kind of get the feeling he's saying he's got his loved one "right beside [him]." But I'm confused cause he says "Oh they love us American boys," so it seems like he's taking his loved one on tour with him.

General CommentI love this song. And i don't think hes talking about a loved one. If you read the lyrics he talks about the places the band has been on tour and all the great times he's had with them. I think its basically a song dedicated to the guys in the band and anywhere they go, as long as their together they'll have an amazing time :)

General Commenti dunno maybe it has something to do with god, seeing as they are a religious band, they're saying about how they're always travelling everywhere on tour but they are always with god or something like that, or it could be about a lover as well
    i really don't know
    but i love the song
    and i love anberlin

General Commentechopark is only half right. i saw them again last night and this is far and away my favorite song by them, and stephen promised me a few nights before to play an acoustic in the parking lot, but apparently they've never ever performed this song and stephen did all the instrumentals so they had no idea how, but i asked him what he wrote it about, and he said that it was just about the band and how much their friendship means to him, and he wrote it as they were starting to do world tours and how insane the feeling was of him and his best friends going all over the world and stuff.
