This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
I was a quick wet boy
Diving too deep for coins
All of your straight light eyes
Wide on my plastic toys
Then when the cops closed the fair
I cut my long baby hair
Stole me a dog eared map
And called for you everywhere
Have I found you?
Flightless bird, jealous, weeping
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big bill looming
Now I'm a fat house cat
Cursing my sore blunt tongue
Watching the warm poison rats
Curl through the wide fence cracks
Pissing on magazine photos
Those fishing lures thrown in the cold and clean
Blood of Christ mountain stream
Have I found you?
Flightless bird, brown hair bleeding
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big bill, stuck going down
Diving too deep for coins
All of your straight light eyes
Wide on my plastic toys
Then when the cops closed the fair
I cut my long baby hair
Stole me a dog eared map
And called for you everywhere
Have I found you?
Flightless bird, jealous, weeping
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big bill looming
Now I'm a fat house cat
Cursing my sore blunt tongue
Watching the warm poison rats
Curl through the wide fence cracks
Pissing on magazine photos
Those fishing lures thrown in the cold and clean
Blood of Christ mountain stream
Have I found you?
Flightless bird, brown hair bleeding
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big bill, stuck going down

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
I saw how this is #2 on the top 5 lyric list and I immediately knew why. Its not because this song is a beautiful piece of art, no. Its because it was in a movie. A movie which by the way was completely revolting (the acting was horrible, the effects obviously were horrible, the makeup was horrendous. I'm embarrassed to even admit i saw it.)
I hate how popular that sad excuse for a book is. Like really, can someone explain to me what makes it amazing? I read the books, and deducted that they were very poorly written & completely unoriginal. That type of work belongs on fanfiction.net not on the bestsellers list.
I can't even listen to this song in public now, I'm too embarrassed to think people would think i only like Iron & Wine because of Twilight.
This song IS a beautiful piece of art, created before "Bella" was known to anyone, let alone the world. This song was not created for the movie, it preceded it. Kristen Stewart selected it. This forum is about the meaning of songs, not some movie.

Why be embarrassed to like something without having to defend it? Who cares what strangers in public think of you? What matters is what you think of yourself.

Iron and Wine, the topic here, is an artist with brilliance balanced by humility and introspection. You're missing out on a lot if you don't open yourself to this - in my humble opinion.

This is not my favorite I&W song, but I hold it it proudly as a classic piece of art. So what if people think I'm a Twilight fan? Never seen any of the movies, I just praise one of my favorite artists I've been fortunate enough to find. Don't iron and whine, just iron and wine...
You could do with some confidence building classes, then you can go about your business not worrying what other people think of you. It Is an amazing song beautiful music wether it was used in Twilight, also the Twilight movies have been amazing for a lot of the younger generation we all grew up with some memories of the best films that were out at the time. Its memories for our kids.
