"Lions and Tigers" as written by and Chikudate Alsop....
Send the kids to the garden
the cypresses burdened down
to make a perfect pair
spread on a blanket
the angels wasting their tears
when your wet face turns to cheer

Tiny little voices won't take nothing from no one
Tiny little fingers won't pull nothing from nowhere

The children are begging
the smiling rain clouds
to please reflect my tears
leaves fall from nowhere
I won't beg your pardon
I won't be there when you laugh

Tiny little voices won't take nothing from no one
Tiny little fingers won't pull nothing from nowhere

And find a way to set them straight
these kids are all begging to trade
their ghosts away and let them fade and let them...
All of their open smiles just sit and wait, to sing a brutal song

General Commenti am taking a leap of faith with this one...it is defintely coded in metaphors but the most simplest explaination I can give is one of the innocence and guilt in youth. Children with their "tiny voices and fingers" can be so brutal and angelic at the same time....She is celebrating this beauty, children's absent mindedness that so many of us wish we had, they just live for the moment.

General Commenti think this song is about a couple's break up, sending the children outside when everything comes apart. the contrast is between the kids' innocence and the couple's pain. the singer can see the children's hopes for reconciliation, but it's over. all that's left is for innocence to fade and "to sing a brutal song."

this is my favorite song by AS. so log in, yuki, and tell me i'm right.
