Broke the ring around it,
I can't think about it,
I can barely start to even wrap my head around it,
Waters rise around us,
Sinking ships surround us,
I can't believe she even found a way inside to drown us,
I'm not so sure anymore what's next,
Or if there's anything left for us,
What will we find inside of the wreck.
Yeah we both know,
It's all just washed away.

Where do you go and what do you do?
When all you have left is hanging on you?
Where do you go and what do you do?
When you lose everything you ever knew?

Shine a light into it,
Shoot a canon through it,
Spill it all, and hope you find a way to make it through it,
Cos down is up and up is down
And love lies dying on the ground
You find a line that's in the sand and figure out who drew it,
I'm not quite sure anymore what's next,
Or if there's anything left for us,
What will we find inside of the wreck,
Yeah we both know,
It's all just washed away.

Where do you go and what do you do?
When all you have left is hanging on you?
Where do you go and what do you do?
When you lose everything.

Broke the ring around it
And i can't think about it
I can barely start to wrap my head around it
Cos down is up and up is down
And love lies dying on the ground,
Find a line that's in the sand and figure out who drew it.

Where do you go and what do you do
When all you have left is hanging on you
Where do you go and what do you do When you lose everything you ever knew?
Where do you go and what do you do
When all that you have's been taken from you?
Where do you go and what do you do When you lose everything.

General CommentI found a new most depressing song...
Only thing that salvages this song is that it emphasizes trying to "find a way to make it through..." The line about finding a "line that's in the sand" means that the singer wants to figure out whether the impasse in the relationship is someone's fault or just a product of his imagination. Perhaps there's an explanation he hadn't yet thought of. But in typical Sister Hazel fashion, honesty compels him to admit that the answer is probably no.

General CommentThis is a wonderfully honest look at the hopelessness of a relationship lost. He writes from the standpoint of knowing he's been beaten by the relationship, and he feigns an attempt at salvaging it. But ultimately, this song is about admitting when it's time to throw in the towel.

Great piece from a band that remains my guiltiest pleasure. And it was even featured in the most recent episode of Scrubs -- you can always count on Zach Braff to deliver the right song for the moment.

General CommentI read on the band's website that this song is actually a dual-meaning song. It can obviously be about a relationship gone sour, maybe because of a third party. But the after learning the second meaning, the song gives me chills. It's about the aftermath of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans. As always, Ken Block and company have created a brilliant lyric and melody. They are my absolute favorite.
