Where do I see the light?
It's all gone dead in a way

Oh Lord can a stone be ballest for an aching soul

Learning how to know your mind
My made up thing on the way back

To get out before I'm feeling you just blow them all away

It's 80's life
But it all looks good on you

Ohh-oh-ohhh-

Suddenly police run out and hope is found in a sound
I don't want to live a war
That's got no end in our time

Call it living in this country
Calling it missing dawn patrol

It's 80's life
And it's all gone right on you

General CommentTHIS SONG KICKS ASS. But those lyrics are way off...

Where do I see the light
It's all gone dead in a way

Cos more or less and get on by
My made up thing on the day

    Oh Lord can a stone
Be ballest for an aching soul

Just learning how to know your mind
No hiding out on the way back

To get out before I'm feeling
You just blow them all away
    It's eighties life
But it all looks good on you

    Suddenly police run out
And hope is found in a sound

Cos I don't want to live a war
That's got no end in our time

Call it living in this country
    Calling it missing dawn patrol
    It's eighties life
And it's all gone right on you

General CommentI've just gotten into this band after liking Blur and the Gorillaz
they don't have the most original sound (because the same lead singer from the Gorillaz heads these guys) but I really like this song
it's chord pattern reminds me a lot of an old 50's ballad-type song
    great tune

General CommentI really think this song is about the early 80s living in England, specifically the Falklands War and the rampant nationalism that spread throughout England due to it. If you've seen the film "This is England" that came out last year it should explain this song pretty well.

General Commenttreefingers, I agree it's not an original sound if you just looking at by comparing bands, but I am glad you recognize that it is Albarn leading all three bands. And I think this is his sound. If you know your Blur history, one reason they broke up was because Albarn was trying to control the direction of the band too much.

I think most song writers have a sound, and this is ALbarn's, and I really like it.
