Last night, my mind dreamt
Across eight state lines
To lull into dreams of sleeping, lying
But not so alone this time

Could you feel it when I stole covers, kissed your neck
And wished you one goodnight?
I hoped to remain in for the rest of my days

Now these north breezes haunt me so teasingly placed
Once again in my path, once again I am faced
With the cold truth of autumn, the tease of her taste
My bags have been packed for days

So make it a point to say you miss me
And tell all of your friends
Of the boy from which your accent comes
Oh, won't you hold it against me
For knowing the words
What to say to make your heartbeat stop

Last night, my arm stretched out
Up New England and into the Deep South
Just to pull back clouds that hide the sun
Just to burst through your windows just for fun

Could you feel when I snuck in?
Starting slowly a battle I could never win
Could you feel when I burst through?
I am the sunlight drenching you

Now these north breezes haunt me so teasingly placed
Once again in my path, once again I am faced
With the cold truth of autumn, the tease of her taste
My bags have been packed for days

So make it a point to say you miss me
And tell all of your friends
Of the boy from which your accent comes
Oh, won't you hold it against me
For knowing the words
What to say to make your heartbeat stop

General CommentA song about breaking up and moving away is what it seems like to me.

General CommentIt might not be about breaking up, it might be about moving away. Or you could be right, it could be about breaking up because he had to move away.

General CommentActually, I always thought it was about being in love with someone who lived in a different country. "Of the boy from which your accent comes" insinuates that maybe he taught her English, so of course she would speak it with his accent. And the way he sings the line, as in, the present tense, like
"Oh, won't you hold it against me
    For knowing the words
What to say to make your heartbeat stop"
    and
"My bags have been packed for days"
tell me that they're still in love, just seperated. But the way he sings doesn't really say past tense, which would mean they're broken up.

This is my favorite Y,M,AEWK song. It's so catchy and cute.

General Comment@ taylorsaurus rex I think it might be in America becasue he talks about New England and the deep south, both places have strong accents.

General Commenti think the lyrics may be "just to pull back clouds that line your sun" or "hide your sun". but i dont think it's hide the sun.
