It's Friday night (it's Friday night)
Got my stereo up on 9 (up on 9)
Got my groovy shoes (groovy shoes)
I want to dance with you

It's Friday night (it's Friday night)
Everybody's feeling alright (feeling alright)
I got my leg warmers on (leg warmers on)
I'll wear them all night long

It's Friday night (it's Friday night)
Got my stereo up on 9 (up on 9)
Got my groovy shoes
Got my killer moves

So I pick up the phone
And make all the calls
And you're not home
(how would you know when your stereo's up on 9?)
And you're not home
(How would you know when your stereo's up on 9?)

My InterpretationI think it means being alone (on a friday night, specifically;]) and wanting to spend time with a specific someone, and having all the right reasons, but the persons not there.
