Well I was moving at the speed of sound.
Head-spinning, couldn't find my way around, and
Didn't know that I was going down.
Yeah, yeah.
Where I've been, well it's all a blur.
What I was looking for, I'm not sure.
Too late and didn't see it coming.
Yeah, yeah.

And then I crashed into you,
And I went up in flames.
Could've been the death of me,
But then you breathed your breath in me.
And I crashed into you,
Like a runaway train.
You will consume me,
But I can't walk away.

Somehow, I couldn't stop myself.
I just wanted to know how it felt.
Too strong, I couldn't hold on.
Yeah, yeah.
Now I'm just tryin' to make some sense
Out of how and why this happened.
Where we're heading, there's just no knowing.
Yeah, yeah.

And then I crashed into you,
And I went up in flames.
Could've been the death of me,
But then you breathed your breath in me.
And I crashed into you,
Like a runaway train.
You will consume me,
But I can't walk away.

From your face, your eyes
Are burning to me.
You saved me, you gave me
Just what I need.
Oh, just what I need.

And then I crashed into you,
And I went up in flames.
Could've been the death of me,
But then you breathed your breath in me.
And I crashed into you,
Like a runaway train.
You will consume me,
But I can't walk away.

And then I crashed into you,
And then I crashed into you,
And then I crashed into you,
And then I crashed into you,
And I crashed into you,
Like a runaway train.
You will consume me,
But I can't walk away

General CommentThis song is so awesome! I think it's about how we can get so far away from where we want to be, and get involved with things that lead us astray, and then how we get back on track. I know Daughtry is a Christian and I think this song has spiritual meaning too, about how God is so powerful and is able to bring him back to life.... "could have been the death of me, but then you breathed your breath in me"...
    Great song!

General CommentI really don't think this is about God. "Like a runaway train, you will consume me, but I can't walk away"? "And then I crashed into you, And I went up in flames. Could've been the death of me" ? I don't see God in there. I see it as finding someone who helped him get out of a really, really bad situation (drug abuse? violence?), and while he resisted the change initially, now he sees that without it, he'd be nowhere.

General CommentI thought this was about he was going nowhere in life and he didn't know what he was living for and then by some strnge accident he bumped into this girl and she made everything make sense

General Commentwell i personally see this song as a story of his life, not his whole life just a major section.

he explains to someone how he was heading for rock bottom and it seemed like he had no life or hope of happiness.

but then he meets this new person and at first he doesnt know how to react. he becomes angry or aggresive but behind this outburst he had nothing. no strength, no fight, no hope.
even though this new person knew they could of killed him they chose to help him.
he sees through the generosity though and sees that they will use him and leave him, but even though he knows he cant bring himself to leave them. he feels almost indebted.
