"Speak of the Devil" as written by Jeremy Wade Mckinnon, Joshua Steven Woodard, Neil S Westfall, Thomas H Denney Jr. and Alexander Thomas Shelnutt....
This is my vengeance for all the wrongs you've formed against us
You always get me wrong
My whole existence revolves around the progress that we've made
And I'll never be walked on again

I'm on the edge of the rooftop thinking nobody will ever know
I hope that you want to be the one to see the distance from the road

This is our triumph over all the forms of filth you've spread
We'll never let this go
Right from the very start I knew this day would come
Tonight's the night we silence you
There's nowhere left to run

I'm on the edge of the rooftop thinking nobody will ever know
I hope that you want to be the one to see the distance from the road

Let this be your reminder
I'm everything that you wanted to be
Hope for the best but it's over
And you thought you were better than me

Such a pretty picture, your chalk line on the ground
I hope you die

    - Someone was trying to get everyone to go against them. And they weren't gonna let them take advantage of them again 'cause they can stick up for themselves.

"I'm on the edge of the rooftop thinking nobody will ever know. If only you'd want to be the one to see the distance from the road."
    - He's thinking about pushing this person off of a building, it's only his imagination. [NOTE THIS]

"This is our triumph over all the forms of filth you've spread. We'll never let this go. Right from the very start I knew this day would come. Tonight's the night we silence you, there's nowhere left to run."
    - They're gonna do something about it this time. They're not gonna sit around doing nothing and let this person run their mouth.

"Let this be your reminder, I'm everything that you wanted to be.
Hope for the best but it's over, and you thought you were better than me."
    - Since they were talking shit, ADTR is everything this person wanted to be. They're jealous and that's why they're talking shit, to make it seem that they're better.

"Such a pretty picture, your chalk line on the ground. I Hope you die"
    - IF he were to push that person off the building, it would've been this whole crime scene. You know, a murder in the streets? They do a chalk line on the ground of where the body laid. [REFER TO THE CHORUS]

    * Hope I helped! :]

General Commenti Think the song is m9ore based on a relationship. The girl makes him depressed and makes things up about him to make everyone think he is such a bad guy and he can't stand it anymore and he kills the girl by pushing her off a building....i know it's a simple thought but ADTR seems like a simple band.

General Commentactually after i read kennys opinion
    i know the anwser now

    its not about a girl

its about a old friend that makes shit up about him and the band cause the person is jealous. and in jeremys mind he wants to push the person off the building and watch him or her smash on the ground

General Commentit's "I'm on the edge of the rooftop thinking nobody will ever know, I hoped that you want to be the one to see the distance from the road"
it might just be my version, though

it's about someone who keeps putting him or the band down
a lot of shit talkers in OCALA apparently.
saying that they would never make it, maybe?

"My whole existence revolves around the progress that we've made"
suggest to me that someone is trying to diminish the progress that they've made?
    I dunno.

    sick song though.
    Jeremy has amazing vocals.

General CommentYes hopelessxbliss' info is spot on. He/she actually got it more than me XD. It's basically a big FUCK YOU to all of the people who told them wrong when they first started and since they were getting more noticed, people were talking shit about them and so on, so yeah i love this song. Definitely one of my favorites. :D
