to our foundations who fell apart

and all us kids who believed in you

to all the kids that you sold out

and all of us you made feel like fools

we'll stand hard

we'll hold true

we wont let go like you motherfuckers.

General CommentThe prelude to Something More Than Ink.

The feelings of confusion, betrayal, and frustration when a person you followed abandoned an ideology.

This song specifically refers to the "founding fathers" of the positive youth movement known as straight edge. These people dropped the lifestyle and left hundreds, if not thousands, of kids feeling abandoned. This song personifies their (were) determination to hold strong and continue to be ourselves even in the absence of "heroes."
