I'm gonna make you bend and break (It sent you to me without wait)
Say a prayer, but let the good times roll
In case God doesn't show (Let the good times roll, let the good times roll)

And I want these words to make things right
But it's the wrongs that make the words come to life
Who does he think he is?
If that's the worst you got, better put your fingers back to the key

One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories even though they weren't so great
He tastes like you, only sweeter
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories
See, he tastes like you, only sweeter, oh

Been looking forward to the future
But my eyesight is going bad
In these crystal balls
It's always cloudy except for
When you look into the past
One night stand
(One night stand)

(They say)
I only think in the form of crunching numbers
In hotel rooms, collecting page six lovers
Get me out of my mind
Get you out of those clothes
I'm a letter away
From getting you into the mood

(One night, one more time)
One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories even though they weren't so great
He tastes like you, only sweeter
One night, yeah, and one more time
(One night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories
(For the memories, for the memories
See, he tastes like you, only sweeter

General Comment:It's "he tastes like you, only sweeter". It's a line from the movie Closer.

My favorite song on the album. I can't help but sing along every time I hear it.

    I am in love.

General Comment:as I think everyone knows the song is loosely based on the film 'Closer', Pete admitted that he found the film painfully true. People have said there are connections to Chris, but I don't really know the full details of that, and surely he'd be over all that by now?

General Comment:Possible gay undertones here? I realize it's a quote from a movie but wouldn't the line "he tastes like you only sweeter" be inappropriate for a male best friend unless they were secret lovers?

General Comment:This song is clearly about the end of Pete Wentz's friendship with childhood friend Christopher Gutierrez. It's sort of a long story, but most of the legit. fans know what I'm talking about.
The whole "put your fingers back to the keys" thing definitely references Chris's tirade against Pete in his livejournal. And the lines about one-night-stands support the theory that Pete was messing around with Chris's girlfriend, Kate.

General Comment:The song, according to bassist Pete Wentz in an interview with Kerrang!, refers to a romantic relationship in which the initial sentiments have perished, but both lovers continue to "sleep with each other" to appease their physical desires. The title, "Thnks fr th Mmrs" is simply the words "Thanks for the Memories" with vowels removed, which was done to imply that it was written in text language. The line "He tastes like you, only sweeter" is borrowed from the 2004 film, Closer (in the movie, the line is "he tastes like you, but sweeter).

In the scene when Pete is getting make-up on his face, the name in his cell phone is William Beckett, the lead singer for The Academy Is.... This is in reference to TAI's video "We've Got a Big Mess on Our Hands," therefore linking the two videos.

At the conclusion of the video, Pete smashes the large B of FOB, leaving behind the FO, which in internet terminology means Fuck Off. If this is the intention, then this is an obvious sign of his frustration and anger at the monkeys.
In one scene, you can see on the video markers that the director's name is Alan Furryson, as a spoof of the director Alan Ferguson, who directed Fall Out Boy's This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race music video.

n yea .. luv this song .. n the vid is great .. yay 4 pete and patrick i.e peterick :P

General Comment:After Fall Out Boy broke up, the KIIS-FM station where I live started playing this again. None of their other ones, as far as I know; just this one. Like, "Thanks for the memories," because they broke up.

General Comment:I remember when this song first came out it used to piss me off. Because everyone who had it on they're Myspace youtube etc. would spell it wrong. You could all ways tell, they'd either only heard it sung and would write it out ("Thanks for the Memories") or they'd seen it written once or twice and would remember it was shortened but not how it was shortened so they'd mispell it some stupid way ("Thx 4 tha Mmrs," "Tnks fr th Mmrs" etc.).

General Comment:When I'm dead and gone, I want to be buried with the words 'Thnks Fr Th Mmrs' on my coffin/gravestone and to be laying arms crossed with 'Take This To Your Grave' in my hands. Is that weird, or does that mean I'm a really devoted fan?
