There's black ice in your blue eyes
Calling me to pull the trigger
If it's a good night for us to replay
Call all you have inside to witness

Some would put the blame on
Some would put the blame on you

Desperately fearing for confidently dreaming of you
When all you have to do is love
I won't escape the feeling for confidently dreaming of you
My love

Take a long trip or a short ride
Whatever gets me off the fault line
If it's a good day for us to end this
I'll take the stand and plead forgiveness

There's forces under the floor
To pull us down into a hole
Long after I've gone away
You're coming back for something more
Back for something more

General CommentHis girlfriend is PISSED at him for something, something big (calling him to pull the trigger), and they have been fighting. And he pleads forgiveness. He asks her to take all the time she needs to come to terms with what he did (take a long trip or a short ride). He says that it's not all his fault (Some would put the blame on you). He is "fearing" that she doesn't love him anymore, but he says that he can't escape his love for her.

General CommentThis is my absolute favorite fair song! Amazing!

For me, its about some guy who has to "pull the trigger" on his girlfriend because its not working out, and he thinks they should be separated for a while until they can either make up or just forget about it.

"Some would put the blame on you" probably means that some of his friends and family blame her for the relationship problems.

For the confidently dreaming part, he wants so badly to dream of her "confidently" and pretend everything's ok, but he won't escape that feeling that something is wrong just to keep the relationship. He thinks all she has to do is love to fix things, which she probably is not doing.

"There's forces under the floor", "You're coming back for something more"
The first means that it feels like the universe doesn't want them together, IMO.
The second is probably insinuating that maybe she came back to make up with him one day or night.

So in short, its about a guy that wishes a relationship could work, but won't throw away the hard facts just to make it work. It's all up to her to decide whether or not she wants to fix it.

General CommentThis song reminds me of me and my boyfriend. It is a little tough sometimes, but I think its usually just miscommunication. Especially because he is away for his job right now. But I love him no matter what - he is everything to me. I am going to visit him soon, and I can't wait. It seems like time is taking forever, but I know it will be worth it :)
