How can you do this to me?
How can you do this to me?
She asked
How can you?
My reply
Don't know why you can't see
That I'm not doing anything to you
This is happening to us

You say you want everything to be alright
Alright alright alright
(Everything will be alright)
Just not tonight
Not tonight
Not tonight
Not tonight

Mobile phones, electric letters
Spending more time apart than together
Is finally taking its toll
And I can feel myself helplessly
Spinning out of control

So sorry I could not ease your mind
Was rather busy trying not to lose mine
Not to lose mine
Not to lose mine
Not to lose mine

General CommentI love Swearing at Motorists, but this song is basically his way to convince himself that the loss of this relationship is rooted in external circumstances:

"I'm not doing anything to you, this is happening to us"

All of us have "mobile phones, electric letters." Take some responsibility, man!
