Discomposed as a whole
A kindred gift
Barely possessed
Struggles with lack of control
Meet our mistakes, and put on display
Stone me like a martyr
Making it much harder
Time just might beat out my will to overcome

Envious
A simple touch
All of this longing
Hollowed out longings of chimera

Bend and fold
Reform the shape
Force into place
Cant uphold
Devouring the author weakening their order

Envious
A simple touch
All of this longing
Hollowed out longings of chimera

Envious a simple touch
Hold tight
Whys this even questioned at all
Whys this even questioned at all

Turning around, crawling with vengeance,
Tempts me
Tearing around tearing it out
Fraility
Tearing around tearing it out
Frailty

My InterpretationYear 2015 and I'm still digging this song.

Anyways...did it occur to anyone that when he says "chimera" he means satan?

I don't think the title is implying frailty as in a physical condition, like cancer, but more like frailty of mind and morals as in how we sometimes know something is morally wrong yet yield to the temptation of comitting that act ("turning around, crawling with vengeance, tempts me...")

Seeing that a lot of Jesse's lyrics make references to the bible it wouldn't surprism me if this one had some kind of deep religious/spiritual meaning to it, but it's pretty hard to tell exactly what...by far, the most cryptic of Jesse's lyrics if you ask me.

General CommentFirst off i must say, this is my favorite 10 years song, its amazing.

ok to the meaning, the song is about someone or something wanting to be more or someting better, i kind of got a 46 & 2 vibe (tool) from this song.

General CommentTime just might beat out my will to overcome- After Reading that i think this song is about somone with cancer, they want to overcome the sickeness but cannot. if you read the lyrics and then think about it from the stand point of someone in a hospital bed with somekind of sickness like cancer, it makes sence.

General Commenti think this song is about dying from cancer, but more specifically lung cancer.

when he says "stone me like a martyr" it implies dying for something one believes in. maybe jesse is trying to imply that the person dying was a smoker and that he is now dying from how he chose to live his life. also, "envious, a simple touch" means to me that the person dying is envious of those who are healthy and perhaps regrets his addiction of smoking. "all of this longing" means that he is longing to be healthy. "hollowed out longings of chimera" is cryptic but i'll try to decipher it. chimera is a goat/devil-like beast. perhaps jesse is referring to satan and the afterlife of malice that awaits this cancer-stricken being. maybe "hollowed out longings of chimera" refers to the person's attitude towards life and death before cancer. when he was healthy he didnt ever think about death or dying and lived life to the fullest, or perhaps excess. the lyricism is very cryptic, but that's what it means to me.
