This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
There's a devil in my head
An angel in my bed that's getting colder
I'm trying to warm it up with the only way I know
There's something hid inside..I think that I should tell her
Cause its about that time I let her know
He says come with me I'll show you my way
Into a place where all the devils go
Days and days go by that I tell myself the lie I'm getting older
I need to slow it down but the way I don't know
And the devil inside is telling me an order
"To ever feel alive I've got to let her go"
He says come with me I'll show you my way
Into a place where all the devils go
No more pain no more lies and no more worries
It's a place where all the devils go
And I feel cold and so alone
Cause I don't know which way to turn
And I feel like I'm getting weaker
Cause I can't ever take control
(Cant ever take control)
Ohhh Devil in my head an angel in my bed that's getting colder
I cannot I will not let her go
She says come with me I'll show you my way
To a place where all the angels go
No more pain no more lies and no more worries
It's a place where all true lovers go
She says come with me I'll show you my way
To a place where all the angels go
An angel in my bed that's getting colder

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
No Surprises

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
I don't think it is quite Romeo and Juliet style, though I do think the angel is a gf
I think the song is saying there is a girl (angel) who is getting colder as in further away because of the way he is acting. He is torn between changing for the better and following her, or allowing her to drift away as he follows the devil. The devil in his head (i.e. his demons whether they are addiction, infidelity, or whatever) are trying to convince him to give into temptation and follow that destructive path. The girl, or angel, is trying to convince him to follow her and sort his life out and not destroy himself. She is basically saying follow me, not the bad things in your life, and everything will be ok
That's what i get out of it anyway
i think this song is about the relation between a young couple "into a place where all the devils go" is sex before marraige
and "It's a place where all true lovers go She says come with me I'll show you my way To a place where all the angels go" is waiting and getting married before have sex
I love this song and listen to it often. I believe it is the internal struggle we all deal with those demons that haught us and try to distroy us if we let them. It the age old story of good verses evil. Very deep and meaningful song. By the way, I had the pleasure of being at Royal Bliss' concert in Boise Idaho. and they totally kick ass. I have been listening to music for a long time. I heard the song "I was drunk" sort of a family athem... heard they were coming to Boise bought tickets figured we gota support our local bands. I ended up buyng the CD LIFE IN BETWEEN. I have almost wore it out. I love all the songs! and to be honest the week before I saw Metallica and I have to say I enjoyed Royal Bliss MORE (sorry hard core Metallicas). The guys in the band were all really nice even to an older gal like me. I even got a hug from Neal, and they emailed me thanking me for coming! now thats how to treat your fans. These guys are rock with a heart. Their music pierces your spirit. I can't wait until they come back to IDAHO! thanks! blee
I've listened to this song over and over and I feel as though the devil in his head is actually an addiction he has to drugs, and the angel in his bed that's getting colder is his woman who does not do drug's and has tried to get him to stop.and he has to choose between his addiction or the love of his life. by the end of the song he decides to clean up and fix his relationship.
The song overall is a good metaphor for the internal conflicts we face every day...
In the beginning of the song, the guy is in a relationship but he doesn't really feel anything for the girl - thus she's getting colder to him. Maybe he's done something he feels guilty about, or maybe he just wants to tell her that he wants to leave. But he keeps trying to make things work, the only way he knows how, and it sounds like that isn't working too well because the devil inside of him keeps telling him he should just do what he wants. He tells himself the lie that he's getting older, that as more time goes by he grows more and more distant from the relationship. The devil inside keeps telling him he needs to leave, to let her go, so he can be free. He's feeling confused, and weaker because he can't make up his mind. Finally he realizes that he can't just let her go, and decides to listen to her instead of the devil.
Heard this song on the radio the other day and really liked it.
What does it mean? Hmmm. The angel sounds like a girlfriend/lover. She's getting colder, which sounds like she's dead.
The 'devil' is telling him to let her go, to become cold and immune to pain. Instead he joins her, which I suppose means he goes out Romeo style.
Wow. That's creepy.
