To hope is admittance
Feed before beginning
Double-sided cynics
Reflected images
Don't be so selfish
Leaving the image
Follow it far
To find where you are
You haven't grown
Go on alone

Never finished his sentence
Remained in seclusion
For the next few days
Family is circuling
Haven't moved up
All the styles of heresy
Finally he appeared unexpectedly
Looking for company

General Commentmy interpretation of this song is that kurt wrote it out of a) enmity towards the media and b) the desperation of loneliness; so desperate that, in fact, it was like a disease.

'To hope is admittance
Feed before beginning'
that could be referring to how if you "hope" for your band to come across massive public success, it's admittance that you have fed in to all the crap the media puts out ever since the beginning.

"Double-sided cynics
Reflected images
Don't be so selfish
Leaving the image"

this could be referring to all the critics who constantly put down Nirvana as another group that just wants to get on the publicity bandwagon, just putting out crap to get into the mainstream. therefore, they are using 'reflected images', instead of offering nirvana their own image. 'don't be so selfish, leaving the image', could once again be a shot at the critics, or even the fans. kurt could've been talking about how fans listened to nirvana's music for the wrong reasons, 'leaving the image'.
'Follow it far
To find where you are
You haven't grown
Go on alone'
by that verse, kurt could have been taking a shot at himself, telling himself that he hasn't grown as a musician and he still needs to work on it and ultimately discover where he is in life.
'Never finished his sentence
Remained in seclusion
For the next few days'
that could be kurt, talking about how he went to 'go on alone' like stated in the previous verse and secluded himself from his family and friends for awhile, in order to 'find' himself; he did that a lot throughout his life, even at younger ages like when his parents had gotten divorced.
'He having moved up
All the styles of heresy
Finally he appeared unexpectedly
Looking for company'
by that, i think he is referring to how previously he had avoided his family due to their strong religious beliefs; they lived in aberdeen after all, which was a small town. his mother had been known to be a homophobe and his father and other family were much of the same. even though he had 'all the styles of heresy', he had 'moved up' and learned to put it aside. the desperation of loneliness overcame and he eventually decided to come out of seclusion.

i really like this song, and it's not because it's a sort of unknown nirvana song. i think kurt's original purpose was to make this song about a part of his life he was familiar with; loneliness. due to the familiarity he had with being lonely, these lyrics have a lot of emotional value in them, IMO.

kurt has been known to use random lines from poetry he wrote to create some of nirvana's lyrics. i guess we'll never know if this song meant something to kurt, but a song means different things to different people. if you haven't checked this song out, you should. it won't be easy to get, however, as i think it was a song on the 1989 Barnyard Demos. i got it off a friend, but it is probably available on limewire. the search could take 5-10 minutes depending on your internet connection.

General Comment"Remained in seclusion
For the next few days
Family is circuling
He having moved up"

He remained in the greenhouse alone for the next few days of his death. His family is looking all around for him, but he moved up and out of this world.

"Reflected images
Don't be so selfish
Leaving the image
Follow it far
To find where you are
You haven't grown
Go on alone"

Reflected images - Having thoughts about his ordeal going on
Don't be so selfish - A perspective on taking his life
Leaving the image - Leaving his body behind
You haven't grown, Go on alone - He feels he hasn't progressed, go on alone means death.

BAM! Only few people know what this song was ment for.

General CommentThis song is surreal and hearing kurts voice and the music playing like that....4 me it made my spine tingle. What a cool song about....lonliness. and he explains it through the likeliness of a spectre aka a ghost. The mark of a talented writer is to be able to write from another perspective and/or about something you never experienced. Kurt was so free in his writing. An independent thinker. I grew my hair out and tried to be just liike him in several ways.

General CommentThis is NOT "Spectre". It's called "Don't Want It All" (also known as "Misery Loves Company). Get your facts straight before submitting lyrics, Bloody McButtfuck.

General Commentto Maltese:
before spazzing out and insulting someone you don't even know, you should've thought of providing proof for your opinion.
a URL, perhaps?

General CommentVulgar:

Want proof that it's not called "Spectre"? Look at the With the Lights Out track list.

I just really hate it when people confuse Nirvana titles. It's so annoying.

Finally he appeared unexpectedly, looking for company.

That line is about the electrician who found his body. I can't believe no one else noticed what this song is really about.
