Say goodnight to those bittersweet days
When you could tell someone that you loved 'em
And you wouldnt lose your shame.
And now you gotta bite your tongue
And feel the cold blood running down your face.

Spider Cider (x4)

You drink yourself sideways to try to remain.
For a turn at birth you unearth
The beast you'll never tame.
And now you've found someone to hold
Who's gonna leave you empty and alone.

Spider Cider (x4)

But you've got the fever, girl,
And I've got the fever.
We've got the fever, girl,
Now we're cursed to the bone.

Spider Cider (x4)

You should always run
With a loaded fun in your mouth (repeat)

_____ on peoples' face,
Break bottles. That's your way.
Tell the black widow spider on the _______
I love her, I'll die for you.
When the cops come around you,
First you need to wear 'em down.

Well I will die, I will die, I will die,
I will die in the ____ for you.

You should always run
With a loaded gun in your mouth.

Kiss on the lips.
Oh, these cold, chaotic times!
You cannot run the holy war
So what's the use of trying?
And all the world goes to shit.
You've already lived with years and years of it.

Spider Cider (x4)

You've got the fever, girl
And I've got the fever.
We've got the fever, girl,
Now we're cursed to the bone.

I'm so glad someone finally put the lyrics up for this song!!! I think they are pretty accurate. I think it's "i will die in the dust for you" but I can't figure out the other blank parts. And I'm sure it's just a typo but you have "with a loaded fun in your mouth" for the first time he sings it. This song makes me smile regardless of the slight downside of the lyrics.

It sounds "in the middle" for 2 of the blanks. I don't know though. i agree with the above person, this song makes me smile.

This is one of my all time favorite songs and now looking over it, it seems like it's explaining a story of two lovers who can't see each other for one reason or another and because of that are forced into depression and self-abuse.

    It's also catchy as hell

Also, the second blank is definitely "pillow." It fits the theme of the song, plus that's what it sounds like.

Third in a row, but in retrospect, "I will die, I will die, I will die, I will die in the cover for you" fits the pillow thing. Black widows kill their mates, her being on his pillow suggests he boned her, they are probably in the covers, and now it's time to kill him.

Such is life when you sleep with spiders.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
