"The One I Love" as written by and Bill Berry Michael Mills....
This one goes out to the one I love
This one goes out to the one I've left behind
A simple prop to occupy my time
This one goes out to the one I love

Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)
Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)

This one goes out to the one I love
This one goes out to the one I've left behind
A simple prop to occupy my time
This one goes out to the one I love

Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)
Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)

This one goes out to the one I love
This one goes out to the one I've left behind
Another prop has occupied my time
This one goes out to the one I love

Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)
Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)
Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)
Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)

    General Commentthese lyrics are wrong.
the first time through, the words are:

"a simple thought to occupy my mind."

General Commenti love this song, so much. it sounds almost haunting, the way that there is only a soft guitar in the background as rosie and sufjan are singing. i absolutely adore it.

General CommentAbsolutely gorgeous. I don't know how the repeated refrain of the word "fire" can be so compelling, but it IS. Sufjan and Denison complement Rosie's vocals perfectly. This song is golden.
