I built these roads so I could roam
I travelled the world to see you at home
When I gamble my stakes are high and do not decrease
When I break the law my only rule is do not disturb the peace

You're like a bottomless pit - flawless
When the earth around you spits and combusts
Everything about you makes me smile
'Cause you're so beautiful but so fragile
I've climbed mountains high, meteors low
Yet I'm forced around your deadly aglow
Everytime I reach a new milestone
I am forced to your throne

They stare at silhouettes in coquettish cloaks
They break like the cunt of a cloud of smoke
Beauty without grace is like a hook without bait
And I am hooked to you

You're like a bottomless pit - flawless
When the earth around you spits and combusts
Everything about you makes me smile
'Cause you're so beautiful but so fragile
I've climbed mountains high, meteors low
Yet I'm forced around your deadly aglow
Everytime I reach a new milestone
I am forced to your throne

You're like a bottomless pit - flawless
When the earth around you spits and combusts
Everything about you makes me smile
'Cause you're so beautiful but so fragile
I've climbed mountains high, meteors low
Yet I'm forced around your deadly aglow
Everytime I reach a new milestone
I am forced to your throne

General CommentI think maybe it's kind of a love song to Jack's dad, Dave.

I could be wrong, it could be a girl. But I think it would be more interesting if it's his dad.

"Everytime I reach a new milestone, I am forced to your throne"- That line really clues me into the dad theory.

General CommentI love this song, and though i do not know the who in Jacks life the subject is, i have a vague idea what it is about . . .

OK, basically, its obvious Jack is tied to the subject of the song:

'travelled the world to see you at home'

    'forced around your deadly aglow'

'Everytime I reach a new milestone
I am forced to your throne'

We keep seeing the word 'forced', or hooked:

'Beauty without grace is like a hook without bait
And I am hooked to you'

Jack is torn. On the one hand, he loves the subject : 'beautifull' 'flawless' 'makes me smile' . . . and yet the subject is NOT flawless. the earth around them crumbles and they appear 'fragile'.

This fragility comes at a crucial moment in Jacks vocal articulation. For that reason it seems to me Jack feels under pressure to protect the subject, from the hate and fear on earth. This holds him back from achieving his goals:

'everytime I reach a new milestone'

    . . . maybe XD
