This is the wasteland, we call this the wasteland,
Where fewer little posh boys can't believe we treasure beer cans.
Where'd you get those fans,
Found them at the shop man,
Peculiar place to find them but they're dedicated View fans.
You think it's cynical to this home a miracle,
It's not a miracle; we're just so strangely typical,
Initiate in one gang, initiations tough man,
Imprisonment is on the cards,
We're heading for the quick sand.
Sign on the brew, coz there's nothing to do,
Nothing to do, but listen to you,
Not listening to you my parents told me not to,
This is the wasteland, our idealistic wasteland,
Regurgitated circle of a seven hour shop stand.
So steal a car chief, the police are off the beat thief,
They'll find it funny when they see insurance relief,
Sign on the brew, coz there's nothing to do,
Nothing to do, but I listen to you,
I'm not listening to you my parents told me not to,
Think you're a hard prick, something quite sadistic,
No you weren't sadistic when he'd done you with the brick vick,
Your land is boring, so very, very boring.
Wouldn't dream to wonder if it's raining or it's snowing.
This is the wasteland, wasteland...

The song's about Dryburgh, the housing scheme in Dundee where the band come from...it is, to them, the wasteland.

indiechick, are you just gonna contradict everything i say? Kyle's defo from Dryburgh (and his Gran), and they all hang about at the Dryburgh shops. To be perfectly honest, i don't know their addresses, but if you knew Dundee (which you obviously don't cos in one of your earlier posts you said you couldn't understand them), you wouldn't hang around at the Dryburgh shops if you wren't from there, cos they've got Charleston on one side, and Lochee on the other. Plus, they said they like Lochee Utd. Juniors, who actually play at Thomson park....you guessed it, in Dryburgh.

Also, why would they write a song about it, dedicate it to the Dryburgh boys, anfd mention the Dryburgh boys on the sleeve in their thank-yous?!

PS there's been enough written about them to know they're from Dryburgh, so just keep quiet from now on unless you've got a decent point to make. Cheers.

Amen McDee18!!! Some people havny a clue about Dundee!

"It's about where we come from - Dryburgh. It is saying that everybody thinks the place is a wasteland but we love it. We've travelled the world but I still find it hard to meet people as real as the people there."

And how true is that statement!!! =] x

The pigeon detectives can't spell pidgeon properly and you (a fan) can't spell their name properly. This country breeds retards.

The pigeon's blow anyway, too pop. They were ok at Reading though.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
