This is a file in a cake. These are the silent stills I live to break.
Come stare longside of still as I sleep in poetic rooms named apathy, don't need a shield to see ways to communicate, not a robot ringing bells for tower tapes. These are the moves we make to run in place in the mousetrap maze mistake. This is a file in a cake.
Just give me one more hour to waste let me drag along at this sloth like pace, can't you see the wasted times on my face. Everybodys got a ball and chain for brains-- it's just a matter of finding the key and then grinding the gears away. We make these choices everyday, sitting in our homes we will find a way to circle around in red dots over complacency, real sincerity is never far away.

General CommentThis song is not an ode to "carpe diem" yadda, yadda, yadda. This is not a song about activism, quitting your job, or becoming jaded as you grow older. This is more of a song about being personally active, breaking out of your dimly lit apartment monotony and doing something as oppsed to nothing. We all have things we have to do, we all have to pay bills or go to school or go to work or even something as simple as getting our cars inspected or doing the dishes. And it is too easy to fall into making a to-do list everyday and looking at them, shaking your head and thinking "Why do I have to do this stuff?"
Being personally responsible involves doing things that you don't want to do, and some of us may choose to do these things and some of us may not. Some of us may just decide to not do them (as I have many a time in my day) and just sit on our beds and put them off. But the rest of us are drowning in it. In the end, this song is really about those times when these things saturate your entire existence and it makes you sleepy/apathetic/lazy. But it never has to be that way. It is the things that we do that we love outweighing the things that bring us down which gets us stoked. This song is a signal to break out of all this.
