Struggling between
Sanity and destruction
Mental ability diminishes
Forcing my mind to betray
Strangling all hope
For a prevalent life

Become the enemy
To my own existence
Entering new levels unknown

I accept my possession
Killing the opposed

Foolish believers
Of hope and prayer
Marching blindly into nothingness
They shall never know
The exquisite taste of selfishness

Become the enemy
To my own desire
Entering new levels

Blackness overcomes me

    General CommentSatanism.
The first verse seems to describe the act of converting... Ihsahn from Emperor said when he converted, he went through a self-destructive period, and it's not the first time I read/hear that.

    "Become the enemy"
In satanism, Satan represents the philosophy that it is and the one who follows it; plus, the word "Satan" itself means "the enemy."

And finally, the line and the title, "The exquisite taste of selfishness"...
It's no secret that one big part of satanism is selfishness; one comes before the others...
