"Abandon Ship" as written by and Christopher Frank/barnard Carter....
Mayday Mayday
The captain lost control again
The fucking ship is breaking up
We're going down in flames

Mayday Mayday
Man overboard again
The sharks already circling
They only eat the brave
The SS death lost everything
No-one here can fucking swim
So baby baby hold me tight
While I drown myself in you tonight

Mayday Mayday
The ship has hit the rocks again
This isn't going to fucking work
We're heading to our graves

Mayday Mayday
The captain's lost his way
We're sinking in the river sticks
No-one can escape

Ladies and Gentlemen
May I have your attention please
This is the captain of your ship
I'm sorry we deport this way
You left me broken hearted
But I never loved you anyway

General Commenti reckon it's about u.s.s indianapolis, the song is from a sailor's perspective directing "never loved you anyway" at his country / govt (america)

General Comment@ jkenny, gallows are from watford in england, so its not likely that hes going to be singing about america as his country ;)

Also, its the River Styx, not the River Sticks. In ancient Greek mythology the River Styx was the river on which the dead were carried to enter Hades (the underworld).

General CommentI reckon its sort of a diary about a relationship..and that each paragraph represents a new entry where it just keeps going wrong. Then he realises its soon to be over and is helpless to any attempts to keep it going before it eventually dies and leaves him broken hearted.

General CommentThe ship is the UK,the captain is blair?
just about what a state he has left us in perhaps. he's pretty much sunk the ship.

if its about a 'relationship' i'd be disappointed as they as supposed to be a punk band. mind you they are signed to fucking giant corporation warner bros.
