"First Day of My Life" as written by and Enrique M/chambers Iglesias....
So I found a reason to stay alive
Try a little harder see the other side
Talking to myself
Too many sleepless nights
Trying to find a meaning to this stupid life
I don't want your sympathy
Sometimes I don't know who to be
Hey what you're looking for
No one has the answer
They just want more
Hey who's gonna make it back
This could be the first
Day of my life

So I found a reason
To let it go
Tell you that I'm smiling
But I still need to grow
Will I find salvation in the arms of love

Will it stop me searching will it be enough

I don't want your sympathy
Sometimes I don't know who to be
Hey what you're looking for
No one has the answer but you just want more
Hey who's gonna make it back
This could be the first day of my life

The first time to really feel alive
The first time to break the chain
The first time to walk away from pain

Hey what you're looking for
No one has the answer we just want more
Hey who's gonna make it back
This could be the first day of your life
Hey what you're looking for
No one has the answer they just want more
Hey who's gonna shine alight?
This could be the first day of my life

My OpinionIn my opinion this songs shows the emotion after a depression.
"Try a little harder see the other side" its an expression of how you feel, because you always see the dark side of life. "Too many sleepless nights", also an fact, if you are in a depression. All in all, for me it seems to handle this theme.

She must be scared of the dark, so she gets some poor innocent girl to hold a flashlight for her while she masturbates to pictures of her fellow mates, mostly Vicky B and Mel B. She likes women with big um, tickets, if you will.

General Commentumm i guess is could be about sexual orientation but i really think not.. i think this song is about falling in love period..whether male or female.. or it could be about having a child.. why must people hate so much? whether she is a lesbian or not, the song is still beautiful and so is she.. maybe a jealousy thing on those above me :)

General CommentOh come on, please! *rolls eyes* I'm a lesbian, one who sees lesbian meanings EVERYWHERE... And even I know this song is (indeed) about overcoming a depression!

And by the way, Melanie isn't a lesbian, #1 she'd SO be open about it if she was, and #2; I kinda sorta asked her about it *blush* since I thought Never be the same again was about a lesbian relationship (turns out it wasn't *so ashamed* she kinda almost took offence cause everyone thinks she's a lesbian) The reason I asked is BECAUSE I know she's straight though LoL

So let us please dismiss this farfetched meaning and eh, focus on what it could really mean.

The first time she had sex with another female, if you will. I'd say that was definitely the first day of her lif
