It's not the spark that caused the fire
It was the air you breathed that fanned the flame
What you think you'll solve with violence

Will only spread like a disease
Until it all comes 'round again
Was John the only dreamer?

Sleep with one ear close to the ground
And wake up screaming
When we lay our cold weapons down
We'll wake up dreaming

Obsessions with self-preservation
Faded when I threw my fear away
It's not a thing you can imagine

You either lose your fear
Or spend your life with one foot in the grave
Is God the last romantic?

Sleep with one ear close to the ground
And wake up screaming
When we lay our cold weapons down
We'll wake up dreaming

Only love can turn this around
I wake up dreaming
Everything we've lost can be found
We'll wake up dreaming

I can't believe no one has ever analyzed this great tune. Course, it's probably pretty self-explanatory... when you let the fear that we've been taught in the last 6 years to take over, you lose any objectivity and set atrocities loose into the world.

Only when we refuse to be frightened (in this case, by our government, who wants to to stay afraid and distracted) can we hope to see our way through this mess we've made of the world.

"It's not the spark that caused the fire..." 9.11.2001 didn't set off the disaster we perpetrated on the rest of the world. "It was the air you breathed that fanned the flame..." The constant hum in every bit of media and coming out of the White House of "WMDs" convinced everyone that war was the only way.

"Was John the only dreamer?" John Kennedy. And no. Bobby was one, too.

I think it has less to do with the US over the past six years and more to do with humanity in general. People are often paralyzed by their fears, and you cannot allow your fears to rule your life.

This is less a political statement and more to do with an internal reflection on why we do the things we do.

And Kathryn has said this on numerous occasions that John to whom this song refers is John Lennon. The original Dreamer.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
