"Ophelia" as written by and Francesco Guccini....
Yes the black magic worked
And it might be well deserved
With a pin through my third eye

But the long frozen stare
Shooting holes in stagnant air
Sends me off to die

Waltzing out through your clouds
And I know there is no doubt
Venus is your star.

Ophelia... you're falling out
Too tedious to talk about?

Disappeared in the park
Left me probing through the dark
Put me off the path

You're the pebble in my shoe
And the beauty in my view
Beaming through the glass.

Ophelia... you're falling out
Too tedious to talk about?
Insurmountable...always colorful

I don't want to know
How you do what you do

General CommentIts about a girl who is falling into mediocracy, but he is in love with her. The narrator worships this girl.

    Kashmir is so underapreciated.

General CommentOphelia is a reference to the character of the same name in Hamlet right?

I agree, Kashmir is definitely under appreciated!

General CommentI don't think it's about the girl being mediocre, I think that line is something he's heard her saying about him what with the question mark and all.

I think this song is about her being so away with the fairies, and screwing around with him that he can't tell how she feels about him.

Lines like "Black Magic worked" and "I don't want to know how you do what you do" suggests this girl is a bit of a player, who changes her mind about the men she "charms".

"I know there is no doubt Venus is your star" - Venus is the goddess of love, he can see that she lives for it, even if it means pushing people away to attain.

"You're the pebble in my shoe, and the beauty in my view" suggests she really gets under his skin, but he still finds her incredibly beautiful.

"Insurmountable, always colourful" suggests shes too great to understand or overcome because she's on a whole other plane of existence.
