Pinch me, is this real
This feeling of release?
I'm floating in your Heaven
In the corners of my dreams

Tasting life
Numb again
Close my eyes
It begins

I cannot stumble here
I am safe inside my head
When I wake up I'll forget
I'll come back to my mess

Safe inside my mind, my head (x4)

I will not leave
Stay asleep
Step further in
My ecstasy

Song MeaningThis song is about someone who is just wanting to stay in their own world. They keep going through life but have this feeling of numbness it doesn't bring any satisfaction. Maybe they have a lot of problems in their life that they need to fix. Once they go to sleep, they will dream be in another world but have to wake up once again to their old problems.

General CommentI hope I didn't get any of this wrong, 'cause I couldn't find these lyrics either, so this is all by ear. I think everything except 'Safe inside my mind, my head' is right. It sounds like she's saying your head, or our head, or something.

I hate to be one of those people who's like, "THIS IS DEFINITELY ABOUT DRUGS, YOU GUYS." I usually look for a deeper meaning on songs. But as I was transcribing this, I couldn't help but feel that this might really be about drugs. It'd make a lot of sense. Feeling of release... tasting life, numb again... etc. I don't do drugs or anything, it's just... yeah. Seems a bit obvious.

General CommentObviously this song is about the changing of moods. It makes me think of love, drugs, (manic) depression...
and truly, it is a beautiful song.

General CommentAgree that this is a very beautiful song...but I don't necessarily believe it's about drugs. The release, the numb feeling, can all just be a description of an escape from her real, waking life.

General CommentI'm quite sure what this song means...
    But it really is beautiful.
    Natalie Walker is really talented.

Oh, and to me... The lyrics "Safe inside my mind, my head" sound like "Safe inside my mind I hide"
    Just my opinion, thoughh...

General CommentI dont think it's about drugs, I think it's about relationship and hiding from reality. However it may be drugs, but I think that she's so deep into her love that her reality is left behind.

General Commenti think it has to do with a lost love.....she doesn't want to wake up from her dream because she wants to 'float in his heaven/in the corners of her dreams'...she knows he isn't there when she will wake i have felt once....

General CommentThis song is very beautiful, what with the music, words, and vocals, along with the underlying meaning.

At first, it puts off the impression that it's about drugs, but if you think about the words over and over again, and apply them to what they might mean in your life.... This is what I got.

In this song, dream is prefered over reality. In your dreams, you feel almost flawless ("I cannot stumble here"). Reality is hectic, crazy, and so full of chaos ("I'll come back to this mess").

"Pinch me, is this real, this feeling of release?"
I translate this to... Life isn't as good as this, this can't be real.

So, if you think about it, drugs and dreams are similar euphorias, seeing as the same words and lines can be traced between the two.

General CommentThe first time i heard this song, i thought this song was about a fantacy she was having about someone. "im floating in your heaven in the corners of my dreams." but as she woke up and tasted life, she was numb agian. She closed her eyes and it began. further into her ecstacy. But on the other hand, dream may take a different form and she could be on something. High.
